Without @louisetickle this programme this programme might not have been made. Such an important investigation
"Four years ago Louise Tickle made a podcast called Fallen Women. It was about police failing to investigate signs of domestic abuse – and homicide – in cases of women who died falling from heights." observer.co.uk/news/national… "Now there’s a documentary inspired by that podcast (Stacey Dooley's 'Fallen Women', at 9pm on Tuesday 13th October on BBC Three and iPlayer), and one of its subjects, Killed Women co-founder Jhiselle Feanny, is calling on police chiefs to rethink how all fall deaths are investigated. Louise has the update, and it’s definitely worth paying attention to." [The Observer, 12 October 2026] 'A fall is a mechanism, not the context.' Listen to the Fallen Women podcast here: tortoisemedia.com/listen/the… Watch the Stacey Dooley 'Fallen Women' documentary here (after 9pm on Tuesday): bbc.co.uk/programmes/p0pfr16… #FallenWomen #BeesLaw #KilledWomen #EndViolenceAgainstWomen #DomesticAbuseAwareness

And here it is
This is what keeps a rapist in a child’s life for years. It is what leaves a grooming gang victim tied to her abuser by a court order long after the criminal case is done. It is what turns a protective mother into the obstacle the system has to move. Once the court begins from the position that a father’s involvement is always in the child’s best interests, every other safeguard has to fight its way uphill. Findings of abuse become something to manage, not a reason to stop. The child’s fear becomes something to overcome. The mother’s refusal becomes the problem to be solved. Parental alienation theory only works because the default is already contact — so anyone who blocks it can be pathologised. The System Is The Weapon amzn.eu/d/09eex1rn

It’s been a long road for @HollieDoyle1 who has been sidelined since suffering a serious leg injury in a nasty fall at Bath races on 22 May Good to hear she will hopefully be back on a horse in the next week or two🤞
“It was hard to see a way forward” a few months ago for Hollie Doyle… … but she has improved brilliantly in the last month or so and is already eyeing a return to the saddle!

16 years ago today my little sister was brutally murdered by the boy she loved 💔 and it all still feels like yesterday 16 years later 💔 my heart aches I miss her so so much 💔 Sorry ive not been active for a couple of months with everything that’s gone on in my life with fighting for my justice as well as fighting for my life my mental health hasn’t been the best I started having thoughts that wasn’t ok and if I didn’t take a step back I would fall even deeper for years I’ve coped by been numb to every situation and it’s the only thing that helped me fight for my own justice. Since we campaigned to stop the early release of dangerous offenders a lot of things mentally have come back which has made my nightmares worse and the flashbacks and smells even worse. My fight hasn’t ended I just realised I’m human to and it’s ok to take time away to recharge, recover and to be able to carry on ❤️ And although Laura isn’t here in person I know she is in spirit and she’s routing for me to carry on and finish the last fight that we didn’t even start 🤞🏻❤️ Forever 17 ❤️

I agree with this position. For a gelding to take the place of a filly or colt is a travesty. When geldings can reverse their operation, then they can compete. Until then no geldings. It's preposterous
Protect the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe. One of the world’s most prestigious races, the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe has a unique place in the international racing and breeding industry. A petition has been launched opposing proposals to open the race to geldings, seeking to preserve its tradition, prestige and importance to the future of thoroughbred breeding. We encourage everyone involved in the racing and breeding industry to make their voice heard and sign the petition. ✍️ Sign here: petitions.com/the_prix_de_la…

Over 7yrs ago, myself and two now former colleagues revealed that an ex-police officer was running a Ponzi-style betting syndicate. Mike Stanley was jailed for defrauding thousands of members out of £44 million. Today, I’m told, victims have had back 18p in the pound. Brutal.

Given it's Arc week, I thought it apt to highlight the equine work of some of France's most renowned artists beginning with Henri de Toulouse Lautrec 1864 - 1901
