A little thought to start the day. We spend so much time comparing where we are to where others are. But everyone's journey is different. Focus on building a life that makes you happy, not one that looks good to everyone else.

If I was starting investing today with ZERO knowledge, this is what I'd do first. 👇 Here we go! When I first started investing back in 2022, I had no real conviction in any individual stocks. I believed in the AI narrative, but I had no idea which companies would come out on top. Was it $NVDA or was it $GOOG? So I decided to keep things simple and DCA into an S&P 500 index fund. SIMPLE = SUCCESS!! Same amount, every single month. Didn't matter what the market was doing. Then came the 2022 bear market. Did I stop investing? Nope! I just kept buying. Fast forward to October 2024: Invested: £25,400 Portfolio: £31,443 Profit: £6,043 (+23.8% overall) Not too bad for a newbie right? But here's the thing. The biggest takeaway for me wasn't the profit. It was learning to be disciplined, consistent and most importantly, controlling my emotions when the market was falling. IMO, index funds are a great place to start regardless of your age. You get exposure to lots of companies rather than putting all your eggs in one basket. Of course, there's still risk but diversification manages risk. I wanted to get comfortable with the market volatility before trying to pick individual stocks. There's different strategies to DCA, but will leave that for another time. One thing I've learned is that you NEED MONEY TO MAKE MONEY. Even EVERY small amounts adds up over time. Trust me it works!!! So here's my question. Are you investing consistently, or are you waiting for the perfect time to jump in? It is time in the market and not timing the market, this saying is VERY VERY ACCURATE!!!
