I had pretty much stopped reviewing ReScript PRs. Just rubber stamping most times.
Now we can review again, at a higher level.
There are a dozen PRs per day, most correct. Lots of issues can be caught by semantic drift analysis later on. So the cost benefit of detailed reviews had shifted.
But that can only go so far before things go out of hand.
Now aiming for a new balance.

React Native 0.88 is now available!
This release switches to a web-based event dispatching model, adds variable fonts support, SceneDelegate on iOS, and ArrayBuffer support for Android TurboModules. And it's another non-breaking major release.

Solo-dev, maintaining multiple native codebases for the same features is a trap.
Even with AI, you don’t have the human and financial resources of a big company to keep everything in parity.
It’s a massive waste of time.
Solo-devs: stay cross-platform.

I always said react-native-edge-to-edge was meant to disappear one day, once edge-to-edge landed properly in core.
With React Native 0.86 and its many edge-to-edge fixes, that day is here. Just set edgeToEdgeEnabled=true and you're good. 🎉
Edge-to-edge on Android
Comprehensive fixes for Android 15+ edge-to-edge mode, including when it's enforced by the OS:
- measureInWindow returns correct coordinates
- KeyboardAvoidingView works with edgeToEdgeEnabled
- Dimensions window values are accurate pre-Android 15
- StatusBar updates work while Modals are open
