A short piece on Information Warfare (Psychological operations) in instant #PunjabFloods situation : Last time Pakistan initiated a low intensity conflict which is required a fertile recruiting ground that only a disgruntled society can provide, it was rather straightforward hard option it chose without investing adequate time and resources on preparations of the “just cause” for the recruits to fight for. It failed but it surely learnt its lesson and with visitation of internet technology and social media, it got an opportunity to prepare the fertile recruiting ground with relatively lower cost, just narratives and propaganda. This time it has chosen the “zero intensity conflict” to simply condition the minds against Indian union. Every opportunity is being utilised for soft landing K-stani narratives to condition the minds against India as a nation. What must we do? 1. Punjabis : we are the target population for this narrative, just try to see through pragmatically and filter out falsehood. 2. People from other state : don’t let the sense of “othering of Punjab” set it by confronting with tropes and uneducated vindictive jibes. Counter falsehood with respect and facts.
