This new study on setting will be controversial. This analysis from @profbeckyallen is clear-eyed, measured and provides some much needed clarity to a problem that has been far too dominated by politics and weak moral arguments. Link in reply ⤵️

For nearly 30 years, education researchers have been trying to prove David Blunkett's 1997 White Paper wrong about maths setting. Today's EEF study suggests they've failed. I hope this debate is now closed and we can move onto talking about why low attainers are failing in secondary maths, regardless of how we group classes.

Ok - DfE Sign In > Manage Users > select > add service > Issue Education Records
Can add services to others as approver, but can’t request for self as an approver. Will need another approver at your org to add it to your account.

Who cares. Make LAs enforce fines and court appearances for non-attendance, stand up on your soap box and be clear that school attendance and punctuality is a parental responsibility and compulsory, fund schools properly, fund support services like CAMHs and social workers. ✅
Every school will get an individual target to improve attendance – and this will be powered by AI, the government has announced

Needed a new project so I’ve decided to make worksheets and accompanying videos to review each Unit of the GCSE Maths course. Unit 1 Higher (Number) just went LIVE on YouTube. I actually think these would be really powerful as a cover lesson. Bit.ly/gcsemathsH1Vid
