Here is a quadrant chart using CNN’s exit poll. It shows what issues hurt Republicans, by how many voters called each issue crucial and how they voted. Cost of living (49%, D+34), corruption (55%, D+28), & Iran (34%, D+46) made people vote D. Only immigration (36%, R+15) helped Rs.

None of the Republicans who voted were actually mad about Railroad Commissioner Candidate Bo French’s tweets. For context, French got 45% of the vote. Incumbent Gov. Greg Abbott got 45.6%.
As a NATIVE BORN Texan here is what I knew that apparently Bo French and the IQ posters did not: That the average Texan, and almost especially the median white Texan, is so repulsed by him that they will literally vote D for the first time in their lives to send a message

Do not go gentle into that good night. Rage, rage against the dying of the light.
Look, on some level of course Western Civilization is over. Western Civilization has been over since WWI. We are already living in the apocalypse. But you are still breathing. So what are you going to do?

Exit polls are showing the GOPs perceived strict immigration enforcement was one of their few winning issues. The Iran war was a massive losing issue.

The election hinged on Iran because the war with Iran drove up gas prices and inflation and poured fuel on the fire of bipartisan concerns about corruption, Israeli influence, Epstein, and government spending. Iran was the straw that broke the camel’s back.

The tombstone of Tiberius Claudius Maximus, a cavalryman of Legio VII Claudia, provides us with unique evidence as to how soldiers got ahead in the army. It records that he was promoted to decurion by Trajan in the Dacian Wars "because he had captured Decebalus [King of Dacia] and brought his head back to him at Ranisstorum"

This reminds of a joke: A young priest asks a wise older priest, "What's the difference between the Jesuit and Dominican Orders?" The older priest says wearily, "Well, actually they have a lot in common. They were both founded by Spaniards, St. Dominic for the Dominicans, and St. Ignatius of Loyola for the Jesuits. They were also both founded to combat heresy: the Dominicans to fight the Albigensians, and the Jesuits to fight the Lutherans." The younger priest says, "I see. But where do the Jesuit and Dominican Orders really differ?" The older priest looks at him and says, "Well, have you met any Albigensians lately?"
Here is St. Ignatius of Loyola, trampling on the heretic Martin Luther.

I hung out with Oliver Stone twice via a mutual friend. He was very intelligent and interesting, and a little nuts. He indulged my questions about his films and we talked a lot about history.
Who’s the most famous person you’ve ever spoken to? Not “seen from far away” — actually talked to, even for a minute. A quick hello, a handshake, a normal conversation… and you still remember it. Who was it?

The most captivating thing about Jennifer Lawrence’s face was her heavy-lidded eyes, which gave her that enigmatic, mysterious look. But now she’s gone and had the trendy upper blepharoplasty, and all that charm is gone. She doesn’t even look like herself anymore. What a shame.

My dear Wormwood, Four years suits us. Better still is the native who calls it mercy while his own suffer. Preferring the stranger to one’s neighbor is the precise inversion of the Enemy’s law- our finest recruits march under that banner. Your affectionate uncle, Screwtape.
Over the last 15 years, I've gotten a fair bit of hatred for my positions, but I've never seen anything like the vile responses to the case of a man navigating immigration trouble. It's the devil's own army.

I regret to inform you that the only political party who actually believes their own rhetoric is the Libertarian Party and this has had disastrous political, moral, and social consequences for everyone involved
The Libertarian Party candidate for North Carolina state senate is currently in the midst of an armed chase and shoot-out with the cops, keeping us posted with live tweets:
