The U.S.A. doesn’t make these solid brass snaps anymore. Not a single one.
Just a few decades ago, USA manufacturers boasted that “9 times out of 10” they’d make the parts in New Britain, Connecticut.
Casting brass and finishing these snaps used to be a competency of American manufacturing. Now it’s gone.
We were able to get our hands on a few boxes of these NOS snaps from 1951 for a project launching soon. Keep an eye out!

These people will look at you in the eye and sell you a 91% synthetic sock, marketed as wool.
Shameful behavior. Our society must not allow this.
Almost gone…
We may only have a few months left to buy USA Cast Brass Hardware for the foreseeable future…
I just found out the - LAST - U.S.A. Brass Hardware foundry is moving their brass casting offshore at the end of the year.
This means we’d need to prototype and order any hardware by the end of the year.
Anyone want to own products with some of the last batch of USA cast brass hardware?

I’ve been needing one of these for my cast iron pan. Voila! @HomesteadBrand
A great tragedy.
Years ago, you could promote your business on a product worth keeping.
Not a cheap poly shirt.
Not a cheap plastic hat.
Not a useless beer can sleeve.
Quality brands promoting with quality goods. We will return to quality.
Anyone know where we could get USA-made promo tape measures still?

this is the power of 𝕏 and what I love so much about it.
every time I find and share someone making things in America, the response tells me people really do want this. They want to know who made their things, where they were made, and that buying them helps keep real skill and productive capacity alive here. And this app gives me some small way to help the Americans already doing the work be seen.
America still has plenty of people who want to make good things, and plenty who want to support them. What is often missing is a way for them to find one another. Somehow 𝕏 has become that place.
I met Chase @thewoolshire here. He arranged for his friend Nathan @HomesteadBrand to make these horsehide belts for @KJP and me. Two wonderful guys doing very special work, neither of whom I would have known without this place.
it may seem like a small thing, but this is how return to a manufacturing culture of makers, customers, and friends finding one another, supporting one another, and giving one another reasons to keep going.
pretty cool. Thank you, Chase and Nathan.

Customer service is something that should be outsourced at a certain point, but I enjoy hopping on and taking care of customers on occasion
I've had customers say they're praying for me, I've prayed for customers. Some open up about their health, some cancel subscriptions only because they've fallen on hard times

Being lied to as a consumer for the sake of profits is such a slap in the face.
@buckmasonusa What makes this an American classic? Genuinely curious.
Perfect start to the day cooking with @GreatGheeCo.
After using only Costco ghee, this redefined what I thought ghee could be.
It’s always great connecting with likeminded businesses that are putting in the work to build better products that are responsibly made.
