🎉 5,000 patients and counting!
We're proud to celebrate a major milestone for the Cardiogenic Shock Module, with 5,000 patient admissions now recorded. This milestone has been made possible by the dedication of critical care teams across the UK and Ireland!
#CardiogenicShock
Over 50 units have already received cardiogenic shock-specific data reports to help improve care at their centre and we have exciting plans to move to online live data reporting.
Our first national analysis of patients admitted to ICU with cardiogenic shock is also underway 💙
If your critical care unit isn't yet involved, now is a great time to join the module and contribute to the growing evidence base for one of the most challenging conditions seen in critical care.

We are pleased to announce that the results of the @PRESSURE__study were published 2 days ago in @JAMA_current.
That’s a wrap on #WFPICCS2026. Thank you to the organisers, speakers, chairs, workshop leaders, volunteers and delegates for an inspiring Congress, and to the children, families and communities whose experiences keep critical care research focused on what matters!
Final day at #WFPICCS2026! Yesterday, Dr Sainath Raman chaired “Rethinking Trials: The Platform Approach” with Prof. Kristen Gibbons and @PaulMouncey, exploring how platform trials can answer questions faster and help improve care outcomes. #PlatformTrials
To measure gastric residual volume or not? Today at #WFPICCS2026, @lyvonnetume shared @GASTRIC_PICU Trial results and important evidence to inform care. Thank you to the children, families, participating sites and research partners who made this possible. #PaediatricCriticalCare

🧵 Presented at #WFPICCS26: Among critically ill children with hypotension receiving invasive ventilation and vasoactive drugs, a permissive #BloodPressure target of the fifth percentile for age did not significantly change the composite outcome of mortality and duration of invasive ventilation at 30 days vs usual care.
The permissive target was associated with lower exposure to vasoactive drugs without a signal for harm.

Big news 🎉
T4P has reached the recruitment target of 1340 patients, our second trigger for interim analysis. This is a huge achievement for the trial.
Thank you to all the patients, families, critical care teams, collaborators, and sites making this vital research possible!
Exciting news re the Oxy-PICU ND follow-up study, which focuses on long-term outcomes for critically ill children from our oxygen therapy trial. We have now conducted over 230 interviews, thanks to all the parents and caregivers involved! For more info: icnarc.org/research-studies/…
