College gradates in the UK are earning ~ minimum wage. Wow. Just wow.
A 3.9% increase takes a 40-hour minimum wage job to £27,456/year. Median salary for graduates 15 months after graduating is £28,500. From tax system to welfare and minimum wage, Britain is an economy that undermines incentives for work and the development of human capital.

Postcolonial theory is an especially insidious critical ideology. Postcolonial theory's most fundamental claim is that colonizer/colonized is the organizing binary of both knowledge and identity. Western knowledge is judged as harmful and immoral and so Western Civilization must be deconstructed. Like all the critical 'theories', Postcolonialism is at its core a neo-religion. If you study PT, you must accept certain quasi religious non-negotiables: 1) the oppressor/oppressed power binary; 2) fundamental skepticism toward objectivity, universality, and liberal frameworks; 3) group identities (race, gender, sexuality, colonial status, etc.) as the key sites of experience and power. Etc. And when you accept these non negotiables, you're essentially agreeing to believe they are truth. What I'm claiming it that you have to believe in the Postcolonial project to even study it. The beliefs are the price of admission. Universities that still claim to seek truth cannot leave neo-religious ideologies in charge of the rules. That is why the critical ideologies, including Postcolonialism, have to be rehoused inside academia—clustered together as a school for secular moral and political advocacy, studied as the secular moral tradition they have become, instead of continuing to set the terms under which everyone else is allowed to speak. Please read the Anti-Woke Manifesto. FYI, when I say critical ideologies, this is what I'm referring to:
In 1978, a single book changed how much of the Western academy thinks about the world – and helped build the foundations of what would become “woke”. In Orientalism Edward Said argued that European scholarship, literature and art about the Middle East and Asia were never innocent attempts to understand other civilisations. They were, he claimed, sophisticated tools of power - a way for the West to invent an image of the “Orient” as exotic, backward, sensual, and inferior in order to justify colonial domination. This idea became the founding text of post-colonial studies. It quickly spread across literature departments, history, anthropology, and cultural studies. The central claim was powerful and seductive: Western knowledge itself is tainted by imperialism. Every classic text, every historical account, every artistic depiction must be read primarily as an exercise in domination and “othering.” What followed was a profound shift in the humanities. The pursuit of truth and beauty was increasingly replaced by the search for hidden power structures. European civilisation was reframed less as a source of extraordinary achievement and more as the root of global oppression. Non-Western societies were often shielded from the same critical scrutiny. Said’s framework helped turn entire fields into vehicles for political advocacy rather than disinterested scholarship. It taught generations of students to see the world through the lens of coloniser and colonised, oppressor and oppressed. The West’s sins became its defining feature, while its gifts - science, reason, individual rights and prosperity - were downplayed or treated with suspicion. Post-colonial theory became one of the most influential intellectual movements of the late 20th century. Its legacy continues to shape how many academics, journalists and activists view civilisation itself.

The NFL showed happy fans and lovers strolling down the Champs-Élysées before today's game in Paris. Not one burning building, masked rioter or Molotov cocktail in sight.

I think Trump and Elon are pushing Zelensky so hard because he can be pushed and Putin can't. And that's really unfair and depressing.

Universities literally no longer teach: • Democracy started in ancient Greece • Codified legal principles and checks on power largely came from Roman law. • The Greeks established the earth is round • The Scientific Revolution was built directly on Greek mathematics and philosophy. • Homer, Plato, Aristotle and often Shakespeare. They don't teach these because they eliminated teaching Western Civ. Especially at the elite unis. Here's something EVERY student now learns: • The marginalized are oppressed by colonization, systemic racism and the patriarchy. Think that might have something to do with the French riots?

Israel is TERRIBLE at colonization.
Replying to @wil_da_beast630
Israel is actually really bad at colonization.

Here's something young earth creationists need to consider. Consider Genesis 1:1-5. A sizeable minority of biblical scholars consider verses 1-2 to be "pre-day" with day one starting in verse 3. After the heavens and earth are created, there is a dark, formless earth with a surface and waters. And it doesn't say for how long this pre-light heavens and earth existed. And, with the 'surface' description it also points to a possible flat earth, not a round one. I think it's entirely possible the writer of Gen 1:1-2 saw a flat, empty earth in his mind that existed before God says 'let there be light'. I think the vision he may have been trying to convey was more like "here's a dark, empty earth. Now behold, God turns on the celestial light show". I know that's kind of crude, but it's also a real biblical interpretation. And if that's possibly true, a pre-day heavens and earth and a flat earth, it really increases the chance the early creation account is allegorical. And not the stubborn, hyper-literal, reductionist, ideological, closed interpretation AiG and Ken Ham insists on. And regarding the insistence that Genesis 1 is history: The idea that Moses composed or received the creation account rests on later Jewish and Christian tradition. Genesis does not claim divine revelation. Claiming Genesis 1 is ‘history’ is a rigid, dogmatic assertion that the bible does not claim for itself.
Church leaders need to be teaching Genesis 1–11 as literal history, equipping people to have a truly Christian worldview, and providing answers (teaching apologetics) to defend against the attacks on the vital history God has given to us.

I got to thinking about Ark Encounter's proclamation "Dinosaurs were on the Ark" That is just so specious on so many levels. Consider this one example: Ark Encounters estimates ~130 dinosaurs were on the ark. Large dinosaurs required extensive plant biomass; even juveniles of the biggest herbivores would have consumed tons of fodder during a year at sea, yet the Ark is described as carrying only a limited complement of food stores for all animals and humans. No plausible mechanism accounts for both the volume of feed and the fresh-water requirements for these growing giants. No realistic mechanism — pre-dried stores, miraculous post-ark multiplication, or extreme metabolic slowdown (which is specious in itself) — could close that resource gap. The resource requirements just cannot be met by any mechanism even Ark Encounters claims. The claims undermine themselves on their own logistical terms.
Dinosaurs were on the Ark.

The EU Commission has discovered that migration can be used against Europe at exactly the moment it becomes impossible to deny it's own self inflicted culpibility. Pointing at Russia usefully shifts attention from the two decades of decisions that created a system easy to overwhelm and hard to unwind.
🇪🇺🇷🇺 Ursula von der Leyen says RUSSIA IS USING MASS MIGRATION as a weapon against EUROPE The EU chief accuses Russia of deliberately pushing migrants toward European borders to overwhelm authorities, spread fear and divide the continent. She now wants new emergency powers to deal with these situations. Brussels has SPENT YEARS defending migration and asylum as part of Europe's values. Now it's warning that hostile governments can exploit those same systems to destabilize Europe. Completely ridiculous. And pretty revealing who is actually behind it all... Writer: Oliver

Marxism, the Critical social justice movement and increasingly socialism all view society as one big power structure. Marx wanted to redistribute wealth according to oppressor vs. oppressed. Critical social justice wants to tear down society and redistribute power according to the same oppressor/oppressed binary.
Socialism rewards power. When resource allocation, production, and distribution are centralised, power inevitably concentrate in the hand of those who control the central bureaucracy. Capitalism rewards value creation. To prosper, you must produce something that others are willing to forego alternative consumption to obtain.

Oppressor vs. oppressed. Systemic Racism. The exaltation of lived experience. These are the entrenched axioms of woke ideology. 1. The basic map of society and of knowledge is oppressor and oppressed. 2. Racism is ordinary, permanent, and systemic—woven into institutions and routine interaction rather than an aberration. 3. Knowledge is largely standpoint-based, so lived experience from designated marginalized groups carries authority that outsiders cannot fully challenge. These are the foundational ideas upon which the social justice revolution is being fought. And it can be contained. xitter.cf/IanFerrin/status/21100…

Memers are saying Nobel Prize-winning physicist Roger Penrose said “there is no such thing as nothingness”. What he actually said is still amazing.
Nobel Prize-winning physicist Roger Penrose has spent decades investigating one of science’s biggest mysteries: whether consciousness can be fully explained by the physical processes occurring inside the brain. Penrose, who received the 2020 Nobel Prize in Physics for his work on black holes, has proposed that consciousness may involve quantum processes that conventional neuroscience does not yet fully explain. Together with anesthesiologist Stuart Hameroff, he developed the Orch-OR theory, which suggests that quantum events inside microscopic structures called microtubules could contribute to conscious experience. Microtubules are tiny structures found inside cells, including neurons. They help maintain cell shape and perform essential functions. However, their proposed role in generating consciousness remains controversial. Penrose has also explored whether the universe might undergo repeated cosmic cycles, with one universe eventually giving rise to another. This idea is known as conformal cyclic cosmology. Neither theory establishes that human souls are eternal or that personal consciousness survives death. The claim that matter cannot be destroyed is also an oversimplification of physics. Einstein’s equation E = mc² shows that mass and energy are related and can be converted into different forms. Conservation of energy does not mean that memories, personality, or individual awareness must continue after biological death. There is currently no verified scientific evidence demonstrating the existence of an immortal soul. The nature of consciousness remains an open scientific and philosophical question. Penrose’s contributions to physics are well established, but the statement attributed to him about eternal souls should not be treated as a confirmed scientific discovery or a verified quotation. I don't want flying cars. I'm a bird lover. Cats kill billions of birds in the US every year. Flying cars and drone deliveries are going to kill way more birds than that by taking away their urban and suburban habitat. #Tesla #Elon #Roadster
