Everyone is talking about how painfully realistic FAUDA Season 5 feels. For me, it was different. Not because it felt intense, but because I know reality was worse.

Captain Smit Machchhar, the Indian captain of flydubai Flight 1073, fought back after being stabbed in the cockpit.
Despite being severely injured, he managed to unlock the cockpit door - allowing Israeli passengers and the Emirati crew to intervene and save all the passengers.
Together, their extraordinary courage saved 174 lives.

Watching Fauda on Netflix brought back a memory I wish I could forget.
The horrifying scenes of civilians being killed on October 7 took me back nearly three years, to that morning when I woke up at 6:30 a.m. to the sound of rockets being fired from Gaza.
On my way to work, I saw an Israeli 4x4 driving through the streets with an elderly Israeli woman inside, while people around it were cheering. I was devastated and in shock. I wanted to do something, but I couldnโt. I remember thinking: โThis is the end.โ
That day, I posted a tweet condemning October 7.
I paid a heavy price for speaking out. Hamas made sure of that.
