Glad to announce I’ve been transferred from the Netherlands to our Connecticut office in the United States.

2 decades in comms, the fear is rough and real.
I'd push back on one thing, though: comms isn't a hobby major, and the skills didn't stop being valuable. What's hard to find right now is the generic version of the job, the entry-level content work that tools can crank out.

As an owner, the purchase price is the easy number. Hangar, insurance, maintenance, and recurrent training are the real budget. For example, I posted about my experience today at FLL. I had to abort my takeoff roll because of a bleed overpressure caution, and now I'm AOG and waiting for a mechanic. If you'd only fly a few times a year, renting or a flying club is the smart way to start.

People hear how much you earn but never bother to calculate your expenses or the cost of living where you reside.
They look at your salary as though every dollar is going straight into your savings account! 😭😭
Meanwhile, after taxes, rent, bills, groceries, childcare, insurance, and other responsibilities, you might not even be saving 10% of your income! 😂😭
But once they hear your salary, they’ve already calculated how much you should be giving them! 😂😂
