Big news! My documentary on American hero Robert Smalls is part of the launch lineup for Fairground AI Creator TV—now available on Roku and LG Electronics. After reaching over 150,000 views on social media, I’m honored to bring his incredible story to television alongside a group of outstanding projects. This is a version 2 of the almost two year old project. After being accepted for the launch lineup I wanted to update a couple of shots that had always bothered me with the limitations we had to deal with back then. I ended up upgrading over half the film using state-of-the-art tools to create a much more dynamic visual experience. The visuals were built largely by restoring, enhancing, and animating archival photographs, paintings, magazine covers, government photos, and 19th-century newspaper etchings. This project features music from two incredible figures who deserve their own story. Blind Tom Wiggins was an autistic savant genius who was a former slave and one of the biggest earning artists for his enslaver in the 1800's. Also Florence Price a Black American pianist and composer who was the first Black woman to have a piece performed by a major symphony orchestra in 1933.
