Cruel and dangerous.
The Trump administration just announced it’s shutting down all Job Corps centers nationwide by June 30—no warning, no plan, just blindsiding students and families.
Any thought given to the lives this disrupts? These kids—mostly from low-income, underserved communities—were doing the right thing. Job Corps was their path to a diploma, a trade, a future.
Any thought given to the skilled labor shortage this will make worse? Job Corps trains workers in construction, health care, IT—jobs we desperately need filled.
