According to the cricket experts on Talksport......England wanted Simon Harmer to play for them after he qualified to do so.
Harmer said no.
Playing sport for England is like choosing a life of crime.
Harmer is a man of dignity, ethics, integrity, morals and family values 👏🏻

Yet Indian players received nothing for their clear dissent to the umpires against Japan.
More clear ICC favoritism.

Simon Harmer, with his match figures of 58.1-20-120-10, is the first South African spinner to take a Men's Test match 10fer in South Africa since Hugh Tayfield against England at Johannesburg in 1957, and the first ever Proteas spinner to take a Test 10fer in Cape Town.

Simon Harmer (6-16) became the first spinner to take six wickets for under 20 runs in a men’s Test innings outside Asia since Derek Underwood claimed 6-12 in Christchurch in 1970/71.

One of the few Proteas I idolized growing up who is actually a decent and honest human . So many in Pollock's team turned out to be bigots .
Polly is class though . ❤️🇿🇦
🚨He has changed the face of South African cricket - Shaun Pollock on Temba Bavuma in the comm box🚨
Shaun Pollock said :🗣️
"Temba Bavuma is a born leader. He brought in that hope to the South African cricket, he brought in the passion to always fight till the end, he brought in the fearless attitude. He has changed the face of South African cricket. We are thankful to what he brings to the table. This victory means a lot to him, and to his family. This guy leads from the front. He is a special guy, with special qualities. What a champion player. Hats off to him".
Simon Harmer made his Test debut in 2015. He's been in and out of the side since, playing only 17 Tests overall. Since 2017, he's taken an incredible 548 wickets in 128 matches for Essex.
He is 37 now. He was almost in tears when asked about his journey after the third Test against Australia.
Now, after a two-year absence, in his last three series, he's:
◾ Been South Africa's leading spinner
◾ Player of the Series in India
◾ Taken his first-ever 10-wicket haul
◾ Player of the Match to clinch the series against Australia
Strength and character 👏

Top cricketer. And an even better guy.

I noticed some invisible tears in Simon Harmer's eyes at the post-match presentation, and I understood why. 37 years of age, with almost the most unpredictable career you will ever see, six and a half years of it spent without a single Test, and he still never gives up. Simon Harmer is still the man South Africa turn to on a turning pitch, and last night he took 6 for 16.
Still working the rough like the finest spinners out there. Outperforming the likes of Nathan Lyon, who is almost a Test legend. It made me feel how tough it is to be a cricketer, and how much it means when it finally pays off.
Congrats, man. Hopefully you represent South Africa more and more.

Never forget - the Proteas were 0-1 down in the series against Australia and in this position on the morning of Day 3 of the second Test yet still managed to pull off a 2-1 series victory.

There is no shame in admitting the fact that South African are an amazing well rounded test cricket team and the best in current times.
I will also make a controversial statement which might ruffle a few feathers. If Temba Bavuma goes on to lift the 2027 ODI WC he will go down as the greatest ever international captain to have played the game considering the players he has had at his disposal.
