🔺If you can stomach the often utilized, sugarcoated, but dehumanizing buzzwords to "explain" #Africans, narrated by the "world famous" condescending tone of a British accent, and a "I so wanna be European, can I, please?" #Indian 'mini me', this is worth watching documentary on #Ethiopia 🇪🇹 EV boom from @business

Kenyans don’t want Jubaland to be added to Kenya 😆
I don’t blame them.
But what they don’t know is that the area has a large peacefull and civilized bantu population

No thanks Somalis. Infact take NFD and go figure it out.
Kenya should consider recognizing the area as its 48th county. people have endured more than 35 years without effective government. integration to Kenya could offer better governance & public services for local communities while creating economic & strategic benefits for Kenya.

Somalis are very UNGRATEFUL.
Somalia had been abandoned. Even Turkey feared to deploy in Somalia then.
UPDF came and gave you peace.
We lost many Ugandans protecting this broken and useless country( No economic gain).
They now enjoy peace with our blood.
We DEMAND respect.
Omg! What an embarrassment. Uganda 🇺🇬 is effectively saying: for the last 18 years, we have been protecting your capital and your high-value targets, including the presidential compound, parliament, ministry buildings and airport, while supporting Mogadishu. Yet you have failed to use that time to build an indigenous fighting force capable of defending your own country.
The answer to Uganda is that Mogadishu has spent much of those 18 years cannibalising and undermining the very thing that gave it a chance of survival and political revival: #Puntland. Instead of strengthening federalism, Mogadishu has worked relentlessly to destroy it.
Today, without Uganda, the future security of Mogadishu is uncertain. What makes the situation even more extraordinary is Uganda’s apparent position that unless Mogadishu pays what the United States has been contributing, an agreement on continued support may be difficult to reach. This comes after reports that more than 300 SNA troops were wiped out over the past week.
Meanwhile, Villa Somalia is running around praising Turkey 🇹🇷 and treating its security guarantees as some sort of insurance policy against the forces threatening its collapse.
We have seen Turkish weapons fail to deliver the promised results. We have seen Turkish training fail to translate into battlefield effectiveness. We have seen a lack of Turkish support for aerial surveillance, alongside a chain of command undermined by tribalism, nepotism and political interference.
With the United Nations 🇺🇳 ending its mission tomorrow and reports that Uganda could withdraw completely by the end of November, South Somalia is facing a security reality for which it appears dangerously unprepared.
And yet, amid all this, we still have delusional people preaching nationalism while refusing to confront the consequences of the political choices that brought them here.

Many of my Assab posts quote US diplomatic documents from FRUS, the State Department's published series. FRUS publishes selected documents. My next step is to trace their source files and examine the surrounding correspondence, including anything not available online.
Three starting points:
𝟴𝟲𝟱.𝟬𝟭𝟰/𝟴–𝟵𝟰𝟴: the source reference for the 1948 Douglas telegram reporting a French suggestion that "Assab and Danakil coast should be ceded to Ethiopia."
𝗟𝗼𝘁 𝟱𝟱 𝗗 𝟯𝟲: the office files cited for Henderson's 1947 memorandum recommending that Eritrea, except its northwest, be "ceded in full sovereignty to Ethiopia."
𝟳𝟳𝟱.𝟬𝟬/𝟭𝟭-𝟭𝟵𝟲𝟮: the source reference for the US telegram discussing the dissolution of the federation.
First stop: the National Archives in College Park. Then the Library of Congress in Washington.
I'll share what I find, with archival references so readers can check it.
If you know a specific file I should request, tell me below.

The Zenbaba Stand, located in the southwest and southern sections of Bahirdar Stadium, is the ultras section of Bahirdar Kenema fans. Entry is denied unless you're wearing the club's colors, and it's a full 90 minute show where watching the game is simply not on the agenda.#EthPL

BREAKING 🇪🇹✅Addis Ababa Wins 2026 Global Award for Sustainable Development in Cities according to the PMO.
It is a proud moment for Ethiopia that Addis Ababa has been recognized with the 2026 Global Award for Sustainable Development in Cities, reflecting the city's progress in sustainable urban development and its continued transformation.
It is also an opportunity to look ahead. We must continue building modern, inclusive and sustainable cities while preserving the history, heritage and identity that make each of them unique. Urban development is about more than infrastructure. It is about fostering a culture of urbanity, creating quality public spaces and making our cities better places to live and work.
Our vision must extend beyond Addis Ababa. From Harar to Bahir Dar, Hawassa to Jimma, Arba Minch to Dire Dawa, every Ethiopian city has the potential to become a model of sustainable urban development.
Today, Addis Ababa. Tomorrow, a new chapter for every Ethiopian city. Let us build cities that embrace the future without losing their connection to the past.
Congratulations to Addis Ababa! 🇪🇹
