🚨 ISRAEL’S ANTI-DRONE RIFLE SYSTEM IS NOW OPERATIONAL IN THAILAND Israel Weapon Industries has delivered its ARBEL Anti-Drone System to Thailand’s Ministry of Defense, where it is now deployed with the military. Instead of requiring a new weapon, ARBEL can be fitted onto a soldier’s existing rifle, using standard 5.56mm ammunition. The computerized fire-control system automatically manages follow-up shots while the soldier tracks and aims at small, fast-moving drones. Thailand is already discussing an additional order — while several other Southeast Asian countries are reportedly moving toward procurement. Another Israeli battlefield innovation going global. We’ve acquired Orchestra Bio, a platform that helps biopharma teams coordinate the complex process of drug development. Together, we’ll build on Rosalind, our AI models and tools for life sciences research, to streamline those operations and help new treatments reach patients sooner. I found a woman who is 3D printing HUMAN BODY PARTS. This is Dr. Shulamit Levenberg - a biomedical engineer who is 3D printing living tissue. She's printed an ear, a blood vessel and is working on a spinal cord. This is how she does it: 1. She uses 3D printing to create a scaffold that the cells can grow on - made of collagen 2. She adds the patient's own cells to the scaffold 3. The cells slowly start to organize into tissue 4. She works with tiny blood vessels to keep the tissues alive Dr. Levenberg and her lab tried this on rats and something crazy happened: paralyzed rats began walking again! This research is still incredibly early, but stepping into this lab felt like seeing the future. A future where medicine may not be a pill, but it may be printed in a lab. For more information on her work, check out: lnkd.in/eUjMGPgk @TechnionUSA

Solar storms near a black hole? 🌌 Technion researchers Gal Vardi and Prof. Ehud Behar have found evidence of eruptions driven by the same physics as storms on our Sun near a supermassive black hole in a distant galaxy. Read more: technion.ac.il/en/blog/artic…
