I like to think of the many world interpretation as real, and the reason the wave function collapses is simply because it's like looking backwards along the branching paths. If you are on part of a branching path and you look back toward the root -- there's 1 and only 1 path.

I don’t like the overscreening argument. Yes it’s a problem. But the solution isn’t to just remain blind because we overreact to data. Fix the reaction. Create even better screening and diagnostics. Not to mention the value of the data for research.

I’m too jaded from a lifetime of hearing about stuff like this, then it just fizzles into the background. We need to not just discover novel mechanisms, but put them into practical use. That pipeline is tiny, and costs billions. And it isn’t improving as far as I can tell.

I wish there were more space science fiction stories that didn't rely on "oh no the ship has a problem!" moments. Can you name one space sci-fi story that doesn't have some ship malfunction/explosion as a key part of the story? The only one I can think of is Moon.

That and memory. You think a thought. You remember it. Not just what the thought was about, you remember having a thought. The brain is watching itself at such a deep integrated level. Do any of our model architectures even approach something like that?
