Romney attacked me during Covid as an “authoritarian” who was “more dangerous than Trump.”
This was during the time when I used my power to protect people from the largest incursion against liberty in our lifetime — restrictions and mandates that Romney supported.
Blocking local governments from imposing covid mandates/restrictions is not being an “authoritarian”; it is liberating people from government overreach by city and county officials. Florida is better for our efforts, and the country would not have been liberated had we not led.
Claiming to be “severely conservative” and then smearing the one guy who delivered the conservative wish list across the spectrum shows him to be a phony.
Better than Obama but he would have given us managed decline that accepted the assumptions of the left and bowed to criticisms of the legacy media.

A few days ago, Austin Payne, a 15-year-old White boy in Georgia, was hunted, shot, and left to die in an abandoned apartment by four black teen males.
He called his mom after being attacked and shot, telling her he was dying.
She found his body the next morning after searching all night for him.
Charged with his murder: Jansquincey Donaldson, 15; Omari Marion, 15; Adarious Wallace, 16; Detravion Parker, 22.
National media has been completely silent.
If four White teens had done this to a Black kid, it would dominate cable news for days.
Instead, silence.
They covered the Nolan Wells case wall-to-wall for a drowning.
Yet this kid was hunted like an animal and brutally murdered, and because his skin is White, his story will never be told.
I couldn’t imagine being his mother and getting that call.
Rest easy, Austin. 💔

AUSTIN MAN who choked his girlfriend until she passed out is now accused of attacking another girlfriend. He squeezed her arm so hard his fingertips left bruises and cuts. And then a court set his bond at $1.
A few years ago Edwin Middleton took his girlfriend's keys, punched her repeatedly while driving, threw her to the floor of the car, and choked her with both hands until she lost consciousness.
A year later (pre-DA Garza) he was convicted of felony family violence assault and sentenced to three years.
Last year, he was arrested for violating a protective order. He got probation on a related charge, blew it within two months, and got one day in jail.
Then cops arrested him at a public housing complex where officers said they watched open-air drug deals. They booked him for crack cocaine and for being a felon with a gun. No felony case for some reason.
A few months later, deputies caught him driving on a fake temporary tag with no valid license. The fake tag charge was declined. A month later he was caught driving without a license again, and that charge was dismissed.
This summer, he showed up at his girlfriend's apartment and got angry that she didn't want to talk. When she tried to walk away, he grabbed her arm and pulled her. She then got away, picked up her daughter, put her in the car, and pretended to leave until he drove off. Fifteen minutes later he was back, banging on her door until she called 911.
Now he's charged with another felony family violence assault. $1 bond.

BREAKING: Marco Rubio is reportedly considering resigning!
The rats appear to be preparing to flee the sinking ship?
According to The Independent, Marco Rubio may be considering abandoning the Trump admin after Republicans’ disastrous midterm losses.
He reportedly wants to distance himself from Trump’s Iran war and position himself for a 2028 presidential run against JD Vance.
Here’s the irony: Rubio may want to escape Trump’s political baggage after spending years helping carry it.
You can jump off a sinking ship. That doesn’t mean you weren’t part of the crew that steered it into the iceberg.

The local media push the narrative that Jose is just giving first time shoplifters a second chance. They will never properly cover gentleman like Howard.
AUSTIN MAN, a registered sex offender with at least two prior indecent exposure convictions, got caught exposing himself again. Prosecutors dropped that case and 11 more. Three months later he was charged with assaulting a security guard at a Rainey Street bar. A judge cut his bond to $1, he skipped court, and then he was arrested for failing to register as a sex offender again.
Howard Turner was arrested for indecent exposure in October 2024. Then came a string of trespassing cases. On Christmas Eve he was arrested for trespassing and theft, and four days later he was arrested for both again. He failed to register as a sex offender twice in one week. He ran from police, and DA Jose Garza's office filed no charges.
A judge found him incompetent to stand trial. Eleven months later, a judge ruled he was competent again. That same day, Garza's office dismissed the indecent exposure case and both sex offender registration felonies. County Attorney Delia Garza dropped the rest two days later.
In May, police say, he attacked a security officer at Bangers. In September a judge cut his bond from $7,500 to $1. He skipped his next court date.
Last month he was arrested again for failing to register as a sex offender.
With Republicans suffering a crushing defeat that cost them control of the Texas House, longtime Democrat State Rep. Senfronia Thompson of Houston wasted no time launching her bid to become the chamber’s next speaker.

The City of Austin is paying 10 lobbyists $772,623 to lobby the Texas Legislature to let the city raise taxes and spend more money.
Since 2020, the city has paid lobbyists $4.1 million.
For the last session, City Council told its lobbyists to fight any bill that "prohibits or restricts the City's current ability to petition the Legislature." It also told them to oppose "a more restrictive revenue cap of any type."

Texas midterm prediction: Republicans lose statewide offices for the first time since 1994 (or come dangerously close).
This isn't endemic to Texas going blue. The Texas Republican Party is flaccid and brought this on itself.
Republicans have controlled the governorship, House, and Senate for 24 years. Abbott and Patrick have held office for nearly half of that time.
A two-year budget up from $209B to $338B in a decade. A House speaker elected by 49 Democrats and 36 Republicans. Property-tax patches without a lasting fix.
If our rally cries center around cultural wars, we’ve lost the plot.
Texas needs a revival. New leadership. Bold execution. Maximal freedom. No more pandering to leftists in Austin.
After the dust settles tomorrow, my bet is on @DonHuffines emerging as the de facto leader of the Texas Republican Party.

DeSantis: “Ultimately, politics is only part of life and do not look to that for salvation.
Just look to it for people tell you they're gonna do things and then they do it.
I think voters appreciate that.”
In 2020, 57% of Texan voters were white. They are now only 46% white. In the past 19 years, the share of Texan voters who are Christian has also dropped from 84% to 67%.
For decades, Democrats have bragged about replacing and changing the demographics of conservative areas to concentrate power. A large part of this involved mass migration.
Did you know Karl Marx had two daughters who committed suicide? That kind of tells you something about family life in the Marx household.
Marx's said "communism begins where atheism begins" framing his political theory as part of a broader rejection of religious beliefs.. We wonder how his Muslim friends feel about that.
Karl Marx was a leech on society. He "borrowed" money from his relatives, his wife's relatives and anyone he could con. He never worked a day in the life - he wanted a system that would subsidize elites (as he saw himself) so he could micro manage society. You sure that is what you want?

AUSTIN MAN gets arrested for felony organized retail theft, then hits two South Austin HEBs while that case sits. Prosecutors respond by downgrading the felony to a misdemeanor, and a judge sets his bond on two of the new cases at $1.
Michael Scott Pepper started May by pleading guilty to felony drug possession, and trespassing and evading arrest. Two weeks later he was arrested for felony retail theft.
Ten days after that, he walked out of the HEB on South Congress with $118 in groceries. Then he got arrested for trespassing again, and the County Attorney Delia Garza declined the charge. Two weeks later he took $221 in groceries from the HEB.
Then DA Jose Garza's office downgraded his felony to a misdemeanor.
Now he's under court order to stay 200 yards away from both stores.
12 cases in 16 months.

Austin police recruits are being taught race and policing by a UT professor of African and African Diaspora studies who says "Black death at the hands of white authority is older than this country" and has "friends who call for the abolition of police."
APD has put $39,000 toward him, out of its patrol budget.
Kevin Foster, also an AISD trustee, teaches cadets the "History of Race & Police in Austin." He calls himself "a vocal advocate for reform."
He says he pitched the course to the police chief and APD leadership first. They approved it. APD has kept him on since 2022.
APD's last academy class started with 73 cadets and graduated 35. The graduates asked for more firearms and defensive tactics training. But what are they getting instead?
