when my grandpa and his classmates were cold in school during winter they’d bring wood from home to keep the fire burning in the classroom’s stove

kids who walked more had fewer mental health problems, were healthier, and even had measurable differences in their brain structure we will probably never fully grasp the damage that covid lockdowns did to an entire generation of children, but we already know it was enormous
Children averaging 5,000 to more than 12,000 steps per day day had fewer mental health symptoms than those taking less than 5,000. Mental health symptoms were progressively lower across higher step counts with no apparent plateau, even at 12,000+ steps per day. Brain scans also linked higher step counts to greater thickness in two specific regions of the cortex, the brain’s outer layer. Daily movement deserves much more attention as a potential way to support kids’ mental health. That's especially clear when you consider that modern-day digital and urban environments provide little opportunity for movement throughout the day.

holy shit he’s going to clean up Haiti too one of the very few politicians who still has a pair of cojones
Pou chèf gang yo ak manm gang yo k ap kenbe kat konpatriyòt nou yo an otaj ann Ayiti: Mesye nou kidnape yo pa konbatan. Nou deja fini ak gang yo nan El Salvador, e nou kapab fini ak nou tou. Nou toujou gen tan pou evite sa. Remèt nou kat konpatriyòt nou yo vivan, san okenn mal, epi tout bagay ap retounen jan sa te ye anvan kidnaping lan. Desizyon an nan men nou.

intrasexual competition at its finest never forget that every piece of advice a woman gives another woman has only one goal: maximizing her suffering
"Call Her Daddy" host Alex Cooper & actress Sophia Bush: if a woman is questioning whether she can do better than her current husband, "the answer is always yes." "This idea that it's too late or you're too old, or who are you to want more, that's patriarchy. That is crazy."
