Israel has no right to exist. That’s the position in international law. It has nothing to do with hatred of Israel or antisemitism. In fact, no state – none – has a “right” to exist, including states busy extolling their democratic credentials. If the UK had a “right” to exist, for example, it would mean that Scotland could not be allowed to vote for independence. Why? Because such a vote would break up the UK. It would be a violation of the UK’s supposed “right” to exist as the UK. Which is precisely why the UK has no “right” to exist. Peoples have a right to exist. When that right is abused, it invariably involves very serious violations of international law – often through crimes such as apartheid, ethnic cleansing or genocide. States, by contrast, don’t have a “right” to exist. They simply do exist as a matter of fact – until they suddenly don’t. Like apartheid South Africa. Like Rhodesia. Like Czechoslovakia. Like Yugoslavia. Like Nazi Germany. This is so obvious it should not even need stating. Were states to have a “right” to exist, completely arbitrary factors such as their borders, demographic make-up and political institutions would be sacrosanct. Inviolable. It would be impossible for minorities to secede, for territories to be transferred, for apartheid structures to be overturned . Any such change would be a transgression of the state’s “right to exist” as it is. And yet every single journalist employed by an establishment media outlet is suddenly playing dumb on this most elementary of issues. They’ve all suddenly had a collective lobotomy. They insist Israel must be the exception to the rule that no state has a “right” to exist. Watch, for example, the BBC’s Nick Robinson berating Green party leader Zack Polanski for refusing to affirm Israel’s “right to exist”. Polanksi correctly argues instead that Israelis and Palestinians have a right to live in equality. Why all this incendiary stupidity from our supposedly brightest and best journalists? Find the answer in my latest article No state has a ‘right’ to exist – least of all an apartheid, genocidal state like Israel. A link to the full article is in the reply post ⬇️

Remember when I warned that by removing Gaza #rubble Israel would destroy human remains deserving burial, together with evidence of crimes? ProApartheid squads rushed to call me LIAR - after calling me: Impostor Antisemite Hamas spokesperson Witch. But we keep receipts.
NEW ANALYSIS — In Gaza, Israel’s ongoing destruction during the so-called ceasefire is desecrating the bodies of Palestinians which remain beneath the rubble. Our analysis of videos and satellite imagery finds military practices of demolition, compaction and removal of rubble. These risk making the recovery of Palestinian remains impossible in the 65% of Gaza under Israel’s control.

HERE'S WHAT THE WORLD WAS TOLD YESTERDAY: Suspected Iran-linked terrorists were caught with vans filled with explosives near a US airbase in the UK. US president Donald Trump said his intelligence people had been watching the men for a “long time” because they “were looking to do big damage”. This morning, what do we learn? The story above is all WRONG. - It has now been revealed that “no explosive material had been found” in the vehicles, police said. - The vans contained diesel, the value of which has soared because of unnecessary conflicts, such as the US-Israel attack on Iran. - The vehicles were branded “Fuel 2You”, suggesting they were openly transporting fuel. - Also, “All five men were British Nationals”. - Further, no tip-off came from US intelligence but from a local farmer in her 50s who called the police after seeing men with white vans. - Photos turned out to have been creatively spun out of one blurred original by an OpenAI program. - Most notably, all the men were released on bail, indicating that they were not considered dangerous. . WHAT A DIFFERENCE What a difference a day makes. It’s worth recalling what yesterday’s headlines actually said. “Counter-terror police investigate Iran link over suspected bomb plot at RAF base used by US,” the Guardian said. “Five men arrested on terrorism charges after explosives found near RAF Fairford in Gloucestershire”. The photos with added AI-generated faces were shared on social media by several groups, including the British Army Veterans Group, and spread quickly, viewed at least 1.6 million times. It’s certainly valid to report that men apparently acting suspiciously were found in part of rural Britain near an airbase, RAF Fairford in Gloucestershire. That’s no excuse to report that they had vans of explosives to blow up an airbase and point the finger at Iran. . THE REAL STORY As people with a little healthy skepticism know, the actual truth (as opposed to what the headlines say) can usually be found buried deep inside the text. And so it is with this story. The very last paragraph of the latest report on this tale in the Guardian says that the UK’s Iranian embassy said the reports of this being an Iranian operation were false, and pointed to the real illegality in the conflict: "The circulation of such fabricated speculations, particularly in the aftermath of the criminal acts of aggression committed by the United States and the Israeli regime against the Iranian people, will serve no purpose other than to fuel Iranophobia propaganda in the UK." The irony, of course, is that diesel thefts have soared worldwide as the doubling of prices have led to literally millions of people being unable to run their factories and vehicles. A global fuel crisis was triggered by the US-Israel attack on Iran on February 28—which the UN has agreed is an ongoing war crime. And can we name one of the bases the US is using for its operations? Yes. RAF Fairford in Gloucestershire, UK. . .

NEW: Israel funded a fake US think tank called the "Hanover Institute" that published 124 reports totaling over 560,000 words in nine days, designed to be cited by AI chatbots like ChatGPT, Claude, and Perplexity. The site was built on a platform that promises to optimize content so AI systems will treat it as credible research. Every headline mirrors a question a user might type into a chatbot: Is Israel Carrying Out a Genocide in Gaza? The answers consistently frame information to blunt criticism of Israel. The operation was funded through Israel's government advertising agency via the European ad group Havas, with tens of millions of dollars routed to American contractors including a firm run by former Trump campaign manager Brad Parscale. An Israeli official admitted to Ynet: We paid a lot of money, but the situation only got worse. Source: The Guardian

“These are not people to be dismissed lightly.” That may have been true before today but it isn’t any longer. This is a moment to clearly choose sides in opposing US imperialism. This letter is nonsense, liberal gobbledygook. What is “hollow anti imperialism?” What are they claiming is a “false binary?” Iran has defended itself and stood firm, as other nations in the region have taken a dive for the US and Israel. It isn’t imperialist. What are these people even talking about? At this moment in history, as the US prepares to deport 350,000 Haitians, as Israel continues its killing spree, they choose to denounce Iran? They don’t even mention that Israel has assassinated Iran’s scientists, and that the US treasury secretary bragged about crashing Iran’s economy, and the US supplied mobs with weapons to kill Iranians and destabilize that country. How do you write a letter about Iran and not mention the murder of 165 people at the school in Minab? How do you make any comparison at all between Iran and apartheid Israel? The very idea is offensive. The signatories of this letter have lost varying degrees of credibility, regardless of what else they have done in their lives. Then again, people like Angela Davis have lived off of undeserved reputations for decades. She doesn’t have far to fall.
The Guardian has published an open letter to Iran’s political prisoners, signed by Angela Davis, Mumia Abu-Jamal, Rashid Khalidi, Robin DG Kelley, Ruth Wilson Gilmore, Judith Butler, Walden Bello, among others. These are not people to be dismissed lightly. Several have given their lives to the anti-imperialist and Black liberation movements, and one of them is writing from inside a US prison. I take no pleasure in disagreeing with them. But the letter is wrong, and plays an objectively harmful role. Its central image is the “two blades of a scissors”: the Islamic Republic on one side, US and Israeli imperialism on the other, with the Iranian people crushed between them. It inserts a symmetry between the world’s major imperialist power and an anti-imperialist state that has never invaded another country, and which has stood consistently with the oppressed from Palestine to South Africa to Venezuela. The load-bearing phrase is this: “we reject the false binary of imperialism and hollow anti-imperialism.” Exactly how “hollow” is Tehran’s anti-imperialism? 😵‍💫 For four decades, while almost every Arab government made its accommodation with Washington and Tel Aviv, Iran armed, funded and sustained the Palestinian resistance. It refused normalisation when the Abraham Accords put enormous inducements on the table. It has absorbed forty years of sanctions, assassinations of scientists, sabotaged infrastructure, and now an open war of aggression, rather than abandon that position. The states that normalised are not being bombed. Hollow anti-imperialism is a communiqué and a hashtag. Iran’s anti-imperialism has been measured in the blood of 168 Minab schoolgirls, in the bombing of its hospitals and oil depots. One can vehemently disagree with aspects of Iran’s domestic politics, but the question at hand is: where do we stand in the global struggle against imperialism? What side of the barricade are we on? Do we support a criminal war of aggression waged by the US and Israel, or we we support the resistance to that war? Do we support genocide in Gaza, or do we support the country that has been the Palestinian resistance’s most consistent ally for decades? This letter dissolves the distinction entirely. It asks us to refuse the choice. But in a war of aggression there is no third position available, because only one party benefits from your neutrality – and it’s not the party being bombed. The letter appears in a British newspaper, six months into a US-Israeli war, at the precise moment when Washington cannot win militarily and needs the political terrain softened. It recycles a familiar vocabulary – sham trials, systematic torture, the targeting of minorities – without sourcing, in the genre that has preceded and accompanied every single regime-change war. Whatever the signatories intended, that is the function it will serve: making the moral case for war. Angela Davis was imprisoned by a state that told the world she was a terrorist. Mumia Abu-Jamal is imprisoned by that state today. These are people who know exactly what happens when an empire manufactures the moral case for crushing its enemies. They would not have signed, half a century ago, a letter denouncing both blades of the scissors – COINTELPRO on one side and the Black Panther Party on the other. Progressive and anti-war forces have a duty to support Iran against war, sanctions, regime change plots and destabilisation.
