One of the cruelest things about SPORTS?
You never know when you're making a memory you'll spend the rest of your life wishing you could relive.
Think about that.
One day, you put on your high school uniform for the LAST TIME.
You take your LAST bus ride.
You hear your name announced over the speakers for the LAST time.
You walk onto a field with guys you've played alongside since you were LITTLE KIDS.
And you have absolutely NO IDEA how much you're going to miss it.
For most athletes, there's no retirement ceremony.
No standing ovation.
No farewell speech.
Just a final out. A final whistle. A final buzzer.
And just like that, a chapter of your life you thought would last forever is OVER.
Here's what nobody tells you...
Twenty years later, you won't care nearly as much about the stats, the wins and losses, or the trophies.
You'll miss the PEOPLE.
The bus rides. The locker room. The laughs. The practices. The friendships.
You'll miss being 17 years old, surrounded by your best friends, with absolutely NO IDEA how good you had it.
And if someone offered you ONE MORE GAME with those same guys?
You wouldn't care who won.
You'd just want to be there.
To every young athlete still playing...
Put the phone down once in a while. Look around that locker room. Appreciate those teammates.
Because one day, you'll realize something that hits harder than any loss you ever experienced.
You weren't just playing a game.
You were living the GOOD OLD DAYS.

The Milwaukee Brewers should be a wake-up call for everyone involved in youth and club baseball.
103 wins. A trip to the World Series.
And look at how they built their success.
2026 MLB Rankings:
OFFENSE
1st in batting average (.258)
1st in OBP (.341)
2nd in runs scored (832)
2nd in walks (668)
5th in stolen bases (162)
28th in home runs (154)
PITCHING
2nd in ERA (3.51)
2nd in strikeouts (1,544)
2nd in saves (55)
2.98 K/BB ratio
28th in home runs. 2nd in runs scored.
Milwaukee has embraced modern analytics, technology and advanced player development without abandoning the fundamentals that have always mattered.
They control the strike zone, get on base, run the bases, pitch effectively and understand how to win baseball games.
Over the years, I’ve noticed a concerning trend developing throughout club baseball.
Individual recognition is increasingly taking priority over team success.
Tournament organizations continue to emphasize individual MVP awards, all-tournament selections and player rankings. Recruiting platforms constantly promote individual performances, while college programs increasingly use social media, video and measurable data to identify and evaluate prospects.
I’m not suggesting those things don’t have value. They absolutely do.
But I’ve watched how that emphasis on individual recognition has begun to influence the mentality of players throughout club baseball.
Players can tell you their exit velocity, throwing velocity and national ranking, but how many truly understand what it takes to contribute to winning baseball?
How many take as much pride in executing a productive at-bat, moving a runner, making a defensive play or taking an extra base as they do posting a new personal best?
How many are more concerned about their individual statistics after a game than whether their team won or lost?
It raises a question I believe everyone involved in player development should consider:
Are we developing complete baseball players, or are we developing individuals who are simply good at getting recruited?
I strongly believe in measurable development, technology and exposure. They’re essential components of today’s game.
But those tools should complement the development of a complete baseball player, not replace it.
College programs ultimately need players who can compete, execute, make adjustments, handle adversity and contribute to winning.
That’s why I believe development and competition should never be treated as separate objectives.
The best organizations embrace both.
The Brewers aren’t proving old-school baseball is better than new-school baseball.
They’re demonstrating what happens when an organization combines the two.
Technology should help develop better baseball players, not become the definition of one.
Individual development should contribute to team success, not come at its expense.
At some point, the rankings, accolades and measurables have to translate into winning baseball.
Because the game doesn’t care about your ranking.

At some point, baseball has to get back to valuing ballplayers and not just numbers on a screen. Give me the Freddie Freemans, the Buster Poseys, Hunter Pences, Pablo Sandovals, Michael Youngs, Ian Kinslers of the world. Guys who just flat out know how to play the game. Everyone wants to talk launch angle and exit velo, but what happened to valuing a quality at bat?” The 9-pitch battle that might end in an out, but forces a pitcher to show everything he’s got.
The guy who hits behind the runner, takes what’s given, or just refuses to give a pitcher an easy inning. Those at-bats might not look sexy in the box score, but they show up in the 7th, 8th, and 9th. Some of these dudes could absolutely leave the yard too. That’s the point. They weren’t one-dimensional. Somewhere along the way, we confused measurable tools with knowing how to win baseball games.
I’m not against analytics or hitting the ball hard, but there is an art to winning that you can’t fully measure. We need more guys who know how to play baseball, not just hitters, not just athletes, ballplayers. And I promise you, those dudes never go out of style

Radar guns and analytics can measure almost everything in this game. None of them can measure guts and nuts.

This is a disaster for the human race and I’ve really lost patience with the useless morons who can’t see that. An AI video chat that passes for human has no necessary legitimate applications. It will be used to scam old people out of their life savings. Lonely, mentally vulnerable people are going to form romantic attachments to people who aren’t real. Isolation will increase. Mental illness will skyrocket even more than it already has. Kids in grade school will have AI boyfriends and girlfriends. All of this will happen. And worse things we can’t even conceive at this point. People are already forming unhealthy emotional attachments to text-based LLMs. Once there’s an audio and visual component, it’s over. Millions of brains will be broken irreparably.
The benefits of this technology, whatever they are exactly, are so vastly outweighed by the societal catastrophe it will cause, and is already causing, that you can’t even measure the two categories on the same scale. But at least this is the best thing that ever happened to third world scammers. So if you’re in that community, congratulations.
Introducing Griffin, the first model to pass the video Turing test.
48% of people who talked to it live thought it was a real human. Previous systems have had a pass rate <3%. It is #1 on NVIDIA's benchmark for full-duplex AI video.
It’s the first Human Interaction Model (HIM).
