Asimov was the author, initially under a pseudonym, of a humorous book The Sensuous Dirty Old Man.
See also this picture of Isaac Asimov, kissing a fan at Tricon in 1968.
That could totally happen in Iowa won New Hampshire during primary season. But I’ve also seen leftists screaming “Don’t talk to those people!”
Given that 28 percent of the residents of California are foreign born, this is serious business.
“If he was working and remained uncaught for a long time, these are aggravating, not mitigating, factors.”
People keep saying “but he’s lived here for x years” like that makes it better—it makes it worse.
here's my take on the Samuel Sey thing:
0. the existing polity gets to decide who joins it. It has done this by enacting laws.
1. if, as it appears, Sey illegally overstayed his visa, he should be deported
2. if, as it appears, he was working on a tourist visa, his employer should be investigated
3. if he was working and remained uncaught for a long time, these are aggravating, not mitigating, factors
4. a judgement as to whether he's a good person is unnecessary to draw the right conclusion here. good people may not illegally overstay their visas or work on tourist visas.
5. Joel Berry is upset because it's somebody he likes. He should've thought about this ahead of time and either:
5a. (preferable) steeled himself to accept the possibility that immigration enforcement might get somebody he likes and make peace with that, or
5b. not demanded immigration enforcement that might get somebody he likes

🚨 #FOXEXCLUSIVE: 60 Minutes featured a deported Malian national whose wife and two children spoke about how much they miss him and want him home.
But we exclusively obtained Moussa Diawara’s asylum application, where he said he was seeking asylum in the U.S. because he was gay and feared being killed if sent back.
Now, DHS is pointing to his case as an example of alleged immigration fraud.
In his own words, Diawara wrote:
“Although I was born as a boy, but things appeared differently for me as I was already having female behaviors and feelings.”
“I was more comfortable being intimate with boys rather than with girls.”
And describing his life after arriving in the United States:
“Since I came to the USA I had the possibilities to express my feelings to men without any embarrassment no reserve.”

The dueling racial privileges of Canada: does the caste of the victim or perpetrator take priority? It seems, as standard with libs, that when the races are equal tie goes to the criminal.
In just 15 days, I found *two* separate instances in which a career criminal was sentenced for pimping out an Indigenous girl ... only to have his sentence reduced because he was black and "systemic racism" had made him do it. nationalpost.com/opinion/fir…

This has been going on since SANDS OF IWO JIMA. John Wayne, may he rest in peace, was TOO OLD to fight in WWII—34 in 1941, but in 1949 he was playing a Marine SGT. at the age of 42. Every role after that was further from “age-appropriate” @cdrsalamander
OK, fine. I’ll be the skunk.
Ryan Reynolds is 50 years old.
In the movie Mayday, he was 48 when filming started.
They have him playing a Navy Lieutenant—someone who would most likely be in his late-20s to early 30s at most.
FFS. He would be his boss’s-boss’s-boss…maybe one echelon higher with “Admiral” in his name at 50.
Yes, I know, “If this is where you suspend disbelief in this silly movie…” and all…but there are a lot of talented actors in an age appropriate moment in their careers.
I’ve mentioned this before

John Wayne’s career is one of the reasons that many people think of Sergeants and Colonels as older than they actually are in real wars. Wayne was 61 when he played the Colonel in THE GREEN BERETS, 20 or 25 years older than actual SF Colonels in Vietnam in the 1960s.

Ladies, if your man is about to get into a fight don't grab his arm. Don't pull his shirt. Your motherly instincts aren't helping. Get the fuck out of the way.
Note how the delusional family and "helpful" bystanders always grab the normal dude instead of the deranged schizophrenic hobo who is harassing people.

This article is just another exercise in turning lawful traffic stops and immigration status checks into a morality play.
Choosing to enforce the law is not “tearing the town apart,” it is the natural result of what happens when smaller communities are overwhelmed by illegal immigration. It is what Americans overwhelmingly voted for.
Our 287(g) law enforcement partners are essential for immigration enforcement. The law is clear, the mission continues, and we don’t apologize for it.
A one-stoplight TX town got in bed with ICE for $$ and started pulling over every other car and detaining Hispanics. 10% of the town is gone now, and businesses are struggling. The town cop has to look over his shoulder in public now.

In another case, an immigrant carjacker who tried to murder a cop was told "systemic racism" had made him do it ... only for the judge to note that his victims were also "racialized," which made the crime more serious. We've never seen institutionalized racism quite like this.

Via ChatGPT, a linear scale would look like this @tomaspueyo This may have an editorial decision for readability, although this kind of chart IS what Darrell Huff was talking about in his famous 1954 book…
