Wild scenes in court today at the probable cause hearing for two former FBI agents charged by DOJ for alleged false statements to Congress
OBAMA: Republicans are saying: Democrats are for crazy. We're for common sense.
Let's talk about how they define crazy and common sense because I don't think it's common sense to pass a $1 trillion tax cut for millionaires and billionaires paid for with higher healthcare costs and kicking people off of Medicaid.
I don't think it's common sense to launch a war in Iran that everybody told them was going to drive up inflation. That's not the kind of common sense Georgia needs.
And if you want to talk about crazy, let's talk about Mike Collins…
He also happens to be under federal investigation by the House Ethics Committee. And that's for reasons that are entirely separate from what has been called his summer of scandal after it came to light how cozy he was with white nationalists. That's crazy. And there's only one common sense choice in this race. And that is Jon Ossoff

Judge David Carter:
"Never before in American history has the federal government, on the eve of an election, sought to coerce a state and local government to abandon their own Constitutional elections procedures and bend to the will of the Executive Branch. In bringing this lawsuit, the Executive would have this Court believe that it reigns as a sole sovereign. But California and its people are sovereign, too."

I was in the room multiple times when President Biden met with and prayed with Catholic bishops.
They didn’t run cameras, because he and those present didn’t want to politicize prayer and encounter for electoral gain.
When Biden lost his second child in May 2015, he prayed nearly all night in front of the Blessed Sacrament.
It’s the same thing he did in 1972 when he lost his daughter and late wife to a drunk driver.
He went to Mass every single Sunday as president, oftentimes next to the parish cemetery of his children, and relied on his faith to guide him through hell and high water.
You might not like his politics, but I encourage you to act with Christian charity towards the sincerity of his faith and take the view of the late Pope Francis, who called him a “good Catholic” in 2021.

MAGA is not a conservative movement.
They call their opponents communists. Yet, they are the ones embracing what American conservatives would call communism.
Look at what is happening:
1. The Cult of the Leader
Communist regimes built personality cults around their leaders. Their portraits were everywhere. Buildings and institutions carried their names. Loyalty to the country gradually became indistinguishable from loyalty to the leader.
Now look at MAGA.
Giant portraits of Donald Trump. Buildings and institutions being named after him. Political loyalty increasingly measured by personal loyalty to one man.
That is not traditional American conservatism. Conservatives once distrusted concentrations of power and defended institutions over individuals. Today, MAGA has embraced the cult of the leader.
2. Government Ownership of Private Companies
Capitalism rests on private ownership. Communism moves ownership and control toward the state.
Yet the Trump administration acquired a roughly 10% stake in Intel – making the federal government a major shareholder in one of America’s largest technology companies. Other examples include MP Materials, Trilogy Metals, Lithium Americas, USA Rare Earth, and the list goes on.
Call it whatever you want. Government ownership of private corporations is not a principle of free-market conservatism.
3. Government Direction of Prices
Free markets allow prices to emerge from supply and demand. Command economies have politicians telling businesses what things should cost.
Trump increasingly speaks as if the president should determine prices – from demanding lower oil prices to directing pharmaceutical pricing.
Again: where is the free-market conservatism? Sounds more like the Soviet Union.
4. Protectionism Instead of Free Trade
Traditional economic conservatism emphasized competition, private enterprise, and open markets.
MAGA increasingly embraces tariffs, government protection of favored industries, industrial policy, and political intervention in international commerce.
This is economic nationalism and state intervention – not classical free-market conservatism.
5. Government Checks for Political Support
Trump has proposed a $5,000 “dividend” for American adults while explicitly connecting it to Republicans winning Congress.
First of all, this is an illegal bribe.
Second, it is completely fiscally irresponsible. 270 million adults × $5,000 = $1.35 trillion. America is already approaching $40 trillion in federal debt.
Third, if Democrats proposed handing voters $1.35 trillion in government checks, MAGA would scream “socialism.” When Trump proposes it, suddenly it becomes conservative economics.
6. Friendship With Authoritarian Regimes
For generations, American conservatives defined themselves partly through opposition to communist and authoritarian regimes.
Yet Trump has repeatedly expressed admiration for or cultivated unusually warm relationships with Vladimir Putin, Xi Jinping, and Kim Jong Un.
This type of behavior would be despicable to traditional Republicans. Opposing authoritarian regimes was a distinct feature of the traditional conservative movement.
7. The Party Becomes the Leader
Perhaps this is the most important transformation.
Conservatism traditionally emphasized institutions, constitutional limits, individual responsibility, private property, and skepticism toward concentrated government power.
MAGA revolves around one individual.
The leader defines the ideology. The leader decides which principles still matter. The leader decides which former enemies are now friends.
And when the leader abandons yesterday’s conservative principles, millions of followers abandon them with him.
This is the great irony of MAGA. For years, they have called everyone else communists and socialists. Yet today they are the ones embracing communism.

Republicans are furious about a "decoy" Dan Sullivan on Alaska's ballot.
Fair enough.
Now do Miami, 2020.
A GOP operative paid a guy named Rodriguez to run against a Democrat named Rodriguez.
The Republican won by 32 votes.
The operative got convicted.
The Republican kept the seat.
Nobody at DOJ sued to block that one.

Some of us have long memories:
Republican spoiler-candidate precedents:
• Florida, 2020: Frank Artiles recruited a same-surname “ghost candidate” against Democrat José Javier Rodríguez. GOP won by 32 votes. Jury found Artiles guilty.
• Minnesota, 2020: Adam Weeks said in a recorded voicemail that Republicans recruited him to siphon votes from Angie Craig.
• Minnesota, 2020: Kevin Shores said an RNC-paid strategist recruited him to run under a cannabis-party banner. RNC denied involvement.
• Wisconsin, 2012: GOP openly recruited six Republicans to run as Democrats in recall primaries.
• Pennsylvania, 2006: Republican donors financed Green candidate Carl Romanelli’s ballot-access effort against Bob Casey.
• Presidential race, 2024: GOP operatives helped Cornel West get on ballots. New reporting traces funding through a Musk-linked network—not directly to Musk.

I don't want to hear a fucking word about "Dan Sullivan" Alaska.
Republicans ran four (4) FAKE candidates in 2020 to cheat their way into maintaining power in Florida.
The Chair of the Florida GOP at the time was ringling bro kin, and current Nat'l GOP, Joe Gruters.
1. There's more than just three #ShillCandidates from the 2020 Election for Florida House seats.
Follow along.
I'm not seeing any discussions about District 42 and that's a big problem.
