The minute Labour started increasing costs for businesses, such as the NI Increase, the writing was on the wall for the likes of Poundland who work on paper-thin margins.
It's a risky model, of course, but for years they were great for delivering great value for consumers.
It's no coincidence that the big trouble started under labour, and is set to finish them.
BREAKING: Poundland has filed notice to appoint administrators, bringing it one step closer to collapse.
