"Our priority is to ensure that the law is applied correctly across all Welsh services". Diolch @Sioned_W - your public commitment to this is noted. You and other @Plaid_Cymru Ministers (and all Senedd parties) have an excellent opportunity to ensure that commitment has actual substance by attending our next Cross Party Group on Women's and Girls' Rights . We have an expert legal speaker to assist you! Diolch @Art93229Art for your question (and for caring about vulnerable female prisoners).
Yesterday I sat in the Constitution committee for the first time as a new member and took the opportunity to question the Deputy First Minister on issues that matter to 51% of the Welsh population

β€œIf a man can be a woman, there is no such thing as a woman. That might not matter to you personally, but it matters to millions of women who don’t have the luxury of pretending that their sex doesn’t matter” Thank you JK Rowling - once again πŸ‘

"We as a government are committed to act in accordance with the law and expect all public bodies to act in accordance with the law". Well there you go health boards of Wales. What's stopping you? @Heledd_Plaid is telling you to pull your socks up and amend any unlawful policies that you still have. Women's rights are protected in law and men should not be in women's wards or women's single sex spaces at all. We keep hearing that health boards are waiting for guidance from @WelshGovernment. Yet Welsh Government have amended their own policies 'on the quiet', and are making clear their expectation, while health boards are still exposed to financial and legal risk while they endlessly 'wait'. @AneurinBevanUHB @HywelDdaHB @CwmTafMorgannwg @BetsiCadwaladr @PTHBhealth @SwanseabayNHS @CV_UHB
NHS England has FINALLY banned biological males from women’s spaces, following the Supreme Court ruling that β€˜sex means biological sex’. I asked the Welsh Government for an urgent statement reassuring us that NHS Wales will soon follow suit, because women and girls in Wales have waited far too long for these basic protections. #NHSWales #BasicWomensRights #Sexmeansbiologicalsex #safety #Dignity

"We are going to observe the law and the law is quite plain from the case to which she just referred. And it's a matter of drawing up our policies in accordance with that law". We are pleased to see this response from Elfyn Llwyd, Counsel General to the @WelshGovernment, relating to the Supreme Court judgment on the meaning of sex, and with regard to single sex spaces and services. The good news for Elfyn and for @RhunapIorwerth is that WRN Wales can help you with that. The law is not optional and you should be complying with it NOW. Diolch @natasghar for the excellent question.
🚺 'People do not have periods. Women and girls do.' @natashaasghar asks the Welsh Government how it is implementing UK law to protect women and girls.

Searing by @CleverclogsNina on the squeamishness of state sponsored 'feminists'. "Structures are to blame for killing and raping us. If I found myself walking alone in Gorgie late at night, I’d be looking over my shoulder to check whether structures were following me." terftimes.com/p/vapid-bourge…

Nansi Williams - the heroic dinner lady who died saving the lives of schoolchildren during the Aberfan disaster... On October 21, 1966, a Welsh school dinner lady Nansi Williams threw herself over five children as a wall of coal waste crashed into their school. All five survived. She did not. That morning, children at Pantglas Junior School in Aberfan, Wales, were preparing for their final day before the half-term holiday. Nansi, a local woman who worked in the school dining hall, was collecting dinner money from pupils. Above the village stood enormous mountains of waste from the nearby coal mine. For years, residents had lived beneath them, despite concerns about their stability. At approximately 9:15 a.m., one of those mountains collapsed. Around 150,000 tonnes of coal waste and water surged down the hillside, smashing into houses and engulfing the school. Inside, Nansi saw the danger approaching. She ordered five children to get down, then threw herself over them, using her own body as a shield. The impact killed her. One of the children, Karen Thomas, later recalled how Nansi had jumped on top of them as glass shattered and the wall collapsed. The children initially did not understand that she was dead. They tried pulling her hair to wake her. When rescuers recovered Nansi's body, accounts say she was still clutching a pound note collected for school dinners. The Aberfan disaster killed 144 people, including 116 children. An official inquiry later placed responsibility squarely on the National Coal Board. The catastrophe had been preventable. Nansi had no children of her own. In her final moments, she saved five who belonged to other families. For decades, her extraordinary sacrifice received little recognition beyond the community that remembered her. Now, approaching the disaster's 60th anniversary in October 2026, a campaign to honor her has succeeded. A commemorative Purple Plaque is scheduled to be unveiled in Aberfan on October 30. Five children went home because Nansi Williams never did. #archaeohistories

Well, this is a historic moment. WRN Wales are delighted to support the work of this vital Cross Party Group at the Senedd, along with @MerchedCymru. Women’s and Girls’ rights are established in law, and must be reflected in policy and practice across Wales. We’ll be working hard with Senedd members to ensure that. business.senedd.wales/mgOuts…

Didn’t see fit to resign when women’s rights were being eroded though. And I strongly suspect there’s never been an equivalent β€˜Sounding Board’ for women to see how we felt about sharing wards, and facilities. Clearly we don’t matter enough.

When girls have to make this stand against the destruction of their own sport, it shows how much the adults have failed them. Well done those girls. Be proud of your courageπŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘
These brave girls took a massive stand today by walking off the field at their cross country meet. They were on the same team as the boy, so an even more courageous act! I was there! And I stand with these girls!!

This will not be an isolated case in the UK. We’re looking at the tip of the iceberg. So how are men going to address this?
On drug facilitated rape in intimate relationships. A Manchester court is preparing to sentence a husband who has pleaded guilty to 60 offences, including drugging and raping his wife for more than 20 years. Twelve co-defendants are on trial, accused of abusing her while she was unconscious. The Women’s Rights Network says this is NOT an isolated case. More on our substack: womensrightsnetwork.substack…

I’d like to hear from these politicians who β€œaccept the SC judgment” but think the EHRC code of practice is β€œunworkable” precisely how they’d reduce the judgment into β€œworkable” guidance. And I do mean precisely.

In fairness, there are loads of videos of gender critical people saying the equivalent about trans-identified people. They just cunningly disguise their incitement to murder as β€˜we don’t want men in women’s changing rooms.’

When some young woman or man in a hurry is patronising about older people, I have a desperate desire to find a time machine and introduce them to themselves in c30 years. @BBCWomansHour
The editor of @BBCWomansHour appeared on @BBCRadio4 to say that women over 60 need to have language explained to them which many might think sexist & ageist. She says they "reflect the law", but it's "moving". She's impartial, apparently. bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/m0032f…

Plaid Cymru has its gender knickers in a twist. The leadership robotically repeats that it respects and will adhere to the Supreme Court judgment on the meaning of β€˜sex’, β€˜woman’ and β€˜man’. But that's a bit of a problem if you check out the Values on their website or their manifesto pledges. And it seems the party's Senedd Members aren't coping too well when it comes to getting this confused and contradictory messaging across. 🧡1/6
