A new Hamas-run Gaza Health Ministry 2025 annual report on reproductive health states that the neonatal mortality rate (meaning deaths within the first 28 days after birth) in 2025 was 9.1/1,000 births. That appears in line with pre-war World Bank data for Gaza and the West Bank, well below the Arab world average, and slightly below the figures for nearby countries like Syria, Lebanon, and Egypt.
However, previous MOH reports place the neonatal mortality rate for Gaza in 2018-2022 at between 6-7/1,000 births. It's not clear what accounts for the discrepancy: the MOH and World bank metrics could be slightly different or the West Bank may simply exhibit higher rates of all of these negative reproductive health metrics (pulling the World Bank figure, which includes both, up). The second explanation is unlikely, however, since the West Bank outperforms Gaza on almost all metrics.
Looking at MOH data alone, there is a clear increase in neonatal mortality between 2022 and 2025. In either case, neonatal mortality remains much higher than the rate in high-income countries, however, including Western countries, the Gulf monarchies, and Israel (2-3/1,000). ๐งต

Fascinating, this is a good sign that conditions were not created to prevent births. Another good sign.

THE SON-IN-LAW IS NO WITKOFF!
This time, Jared Kushner, Donald Trumpโs son-in-law and key adviser, was absent from the American delegation. Officially, his absence was attributed to a seasonal illness.
However, according to this account, the real reason behind the diplomatic maneuver was a September meeting at the Kremlin, where Kushner and Putin had a heated confrontation. When the Russian leader spoke about the imminent capture of Donbas, Kushner sharply objected: โWith all due respect, you told us exactly the same thing a year ago. What are the chances that we will come back here in another year and you will tell us the same thing again? Maybe we shouldn't waste another year?โ
Moreover, raising his voice, Kushner reportedly delivered an extremely harsh rebuke: โYou are simply stalling for time and feeding us illusions while your country is slowly sinking!โ
Behind Jared Kushnerโs supposed โillness,โ the account alleges, lies a serious split within Trumpโs own team. Witkoff favors a โflexible approachโ and concessions along the line of contact, while Kushner has taken a much tougher position, demanding immediate guarantees from Moscow regarding Donbas. This disagreement reportedly culminated in the September confrontation with Putin.
To avoid jeopardizing the summit and the delivery of the so-called โNorwegian package,โ Trump allegedly decided to temporarily remove his son-in-law from direct contact with the Russian leader, entrusting the face-to-face diplomatic negotiations to the more accommodating Witkoff.

For guys who are fixated on being on the right side of history, they sure do love being on the wrong side of the most morally clear-cut conflict since Kosovo.
Cenk: My view of the war guys is that while it made sense in the beginning to help the Ukrainiansโฆ this war is over, the Ukraine has lost, and so you can say โoh no, that hurts my feelings, I donโt want Ukraine to loseโโI agree, I donโt want Ukraine to lose, it drives me crazy that Russia may be able to keep some of their ill-gotten gains from their invasion. And, and so at the same time Iโve seen what happened to the Palestinians, so once youโre on the losing end of that leverage it never gets betterโฆ your situation deteriorates, and gets worse and worse and worse, you lose more and more land, more and more territory, more and more power, and then you have to make a worse deal, right? So as painful as it is, uh, you sometimes have to take the best option out of very bad options. So if Iโm advising the Ukrainians, let alone Americanโฆ on the issue of financing the war forever apparently, right? I would tell the Ukrainians get to the negotiating table, make as good a deal as you possibly can, and then look to rebuild your own country and eventually these borders will be meaningless at some point anywayโฆ soโฆ stop losing these lives, you have a countryโฆ and, and please maintain of it as much of it as you can today because the Russians have so many more people, let alone weapons, let alone resources. Ukraineโs not gonna be able to win this war no matter how much we finance it. Yes, part of the mission of the Americans was to bleed the Russians dry, but now weโre bleeding ourselves dry.
Ana: 100%.
Cenk: So letโs end the war, get the peace, and save lives on both sides.

ICJ ad hoc "judge" Navi Pillay is tipping the scales on the ICJโs current proceedings on Myanmar, intending to lower the legal threshold for proving genocide so that weakened and false standard can later be weaponized against American and allied soldiers whenever they raise a finger against terrorists that hide behind civilians. Pillay:ย We see your agendaย and we'll be watching the ICJโs handling of these proceedings very closely. As our actions against the ICC demonstrate, we will not allow globalist, faux-judges to weaponize the law against our troops, undermine our sovereignty, or put American lives at risk.

President Trump is showing a better way, by actually ENDING WARS, bringing hostages HOME, and making PEACE.

Lana Nusseibeh may be one of the only diplomats in the world who could get through the Security Council under present circumstances. She comes from one of the few countries that effectively talks to everyone.
She also happens to be one of the most experienced & effective diplomats of the last decade.
An Emirati from a Muslim family that has held the keys to Jerusalem's Church of the Holy Sepulchre for centuries, she would be only the second Arab & the first woman ever to lead the United Nations.
I am standing to be Secretary-General because I believe this is a moment to act with greater urgency: to act earlier, bring people together across difference, and drive the work forward until it produces concrete results. That is how we rebuild trust in the United Nations and ensure it delivers meaningful change for the people it exists to serve.
