Can federal judges appoint a U.S. attorney and then override the President's removal authority? On Unwritten Law, NCLA’s @JacobHuebert joins Mark Chenoweth and @VecchTweets to discuss Trump v. Rogoff and our amicus brief before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. NCLA argues that the President can remove court-appointed U.S. attorneys and that courts lack constitutional authority to appoint them in the first place. At stake: the separation of powers and accountability for those exercising executive power. 🎥 Watch: youtu.be/YbGaTAzFkUY 🎧 Listen ⤵️ nclalegal.org/media/unwritte…

Montgomery County bans Silver Spring Jewish Center's licensed members from carrying firearms within 100 yards of their own place of worship. That means they can’t bring their firearms on the Sabbath walk to services. A court already restored their right to protect each other inside. NCLA won’t settle for half a victory. A court appointed a U.S. Attorney. The President fired him less than an hour after he was sworn in. Then a judge put him back in the job. Can a court do that? 👉 NCLA’s @JacobHuebert explains why the answer is no. Read the blog: nclalegal.org/a-court-picked…

The right to carry inside the synagogue: protected. ✅ The right to carry on the walk there: still restricted. ❌ A court blocked Montgomery County’s firearms ban inside Silver Spring Jewish Center but left the surrounding 100-yard ban in place. Members still cannot carry for self-defense as they walk to and from worship. NCLA is asking the court to reconsider. Our argument is simple: the same reasons we protect members’ rights inside the synagogue apply outside its doors. Read the update: nclalegal.org/press_release/…

A court picked a U.S. Attorney. The President fired him. A judge just ordered him back to work. In Rogoff v. Trump, NCLA argues the constitutional problem began before the firing: courts cannot appoint U.S. Attorneys in the first place. On NCLA’s Taming Leviathan blog, Senior Litigation Counsel @JacobHuebert explains why judges shouldn’t choose the prosecutors who appear before them, and why the President must be able to remove officials who exercise executive power. Justo, si piensas que esta peli es anti-petróleo o cosas así, estás mal. Es una sátira que reduce al absurdo una situación político-económica que me recuerda un poco a Dr Strangelove. Disfrútenla, está cagada y el guión es magistral.
I loved every minute of Digger. It is not climate-change propaganda. It’s not anyone’s propaganda. That’s probably why critics across the political spectrum have hated it—it’s a political movie that doesn’t push anyone’s narrative. Tom Cruise creates one of the best, most memorable movie characters in many years. And it’s a great comedy, funny from beginning to end. Not for everyone, apparently, but it was very much for me.

It turns out DIGGER is a work of pure cinematic genius. Strongly recommend, 4+ stars. Don’t read anything about it or pay attention to anything anyone says, just go.

What happens when a court protects the right to carry inside a synagogue, but the walk there remains restricted? 🎙️ On Unwritten Law, NCLA Senior Litigation Counsel @JacobHuebert joins Mark Chenoweth and @VecchTweets to discuss our preliminary injunction victory for Silver Spring Jewish Center. The court found Montgomery County’s firearms ban inside the synagogue likely violates both the Second Amendment and the First Amendment’s protection of religious exercise. They also examine the county’s remaining 100-yard ban and why NCLA is challenging its application to members walking to worship. ▶️ Watch the episode ⤵ youtu.be/KaozA1Vrsfk

New in Silver Spring Jewish Center, Inc., et al. v. Montgomery County 👇 The court protected their right to carry firearms inside the synagogue, a self-defense measure. Approaching and departing are another matter. Today, NCLA asked a federal court to expand its preliminary injunction to the area within 100 yards of the synagogue. Montgomery County’s law still bars members from carrying within that distance, even as they travel between the synagogue and their homes. @becketfund joins the case at this stage as co-counsel for Silver Spring Jewish Center. 🚨 Montgomery County just told a synagogue it can't protect itself. 🚨 Yes, really. @NCLAlegal filed suit immediately. Jacob Huebert @JacobHuebert joins NCLA President Mark Chenoweth and John Vecchione @VecchTweets to explain why this case could become a major First and Second Amendment battle. 🎙️ Watch: youtu.be/vNkxqyw5vHI?si=05RS…

Montgomery County, Maryland just banned licensed gun owners from carrying within 100 yards of any house of worship, meaning members of Silver Spring Jewish Center can't defend themselves going to and from prayer, even as antisemitic attacks rise nationwide. NCLA has filed suit alongside Rabbi J. Menashe Shapiro: the county doesn't get to override a congregation's own self-defense decisions. It violates the First, Second, and Fourteenth Amendments, all at once. Read more: nclalegal.org/press_release/…

NCLA just launched a lawsuit against Colorado's Producer Responsibility Program for Statewide Recycling Act, which it gives away recycling regulatory power to a private national organization controlled by industry giants that directly compete with smaller businesses distributing goods into and throughout the state. The scheme violates the Constitution, including the First Amendment, in a variety of shocking ways. Other states have similar polices. Is yours one of them? Could your state be next? nclalegal.org/press_release/…

Elon Musk gave the world Tesla, SpaceX, and Starlink, and now he's working to cure paralysis, letting the immobilized move again through thought alone, while Bernie Sanders works to seize the wealth that funds it, producing nothing but envy and hatred. Jeff Bezos built a machine that puts nearly anything you need at your door in a day, and then built AWS, the invisible computing backbone that half the internet runs on, while AOC shouts "eat the rich" and produces nothing but envy and hatred. Blake Scholl is building supersonic jets that cross the country in half the time, and turning their engines into a new source of clean, reliable power for the grid, while Ro Khanna campaigns to tax away the fortunes that build them, producing nothing but envy and hatred. Notice the pattern. On one side, the men who make: who look at reality and add to it, who turn the impossible into the ordinary and lift every life they touch. On the other, the men who take: who add nothing, build nothing, cure nothing, and offer you a share of the loot in exchange for your resentment.

The Fed was not a policy response to national need. It was engineered by two groups of elites—government officials and large banking interests—with economists hired to give the scheme a scientific patina. Rothbard names the names. Free audiobook. soundcloud.com/misesmedia/se…
