Tech X has become laughable these days

I've noticed that the most impressive people I've met have an almost unreasonable belief in their ability to figure things out. They don't necessarily know more than everyone else, they're just far more comfortable being thrown into something they know nothing about

I wonder how many industries have never attracted exceptional founders simply because the problems weren't interesting enough to solve with software....

One thing I've noticed is that the most ambitious people rarely need convincing that something is possible. They just assume there's a way to make it happen and start figuring it out. It's a surprisingly rare quality these days...

Love what we are building and even more excited for what's coming. A lot of big things on the horizon for us at @farsight_ai
When people talk about running AI inside a bank, the conversation usually starts with what model. In practice, the first real decision is how to secure the compute to run it - @Farsight_AI's partnership with @OrnnExchange now makes this simple. Ornn is the leader in financial markets for compute. With our partnership, banks can now source capacity through Ornn and run Farsight's model-agnostic solutions directly through it - all in their own environments on-premise. This brings the full stack to the firm, from the infrastructure to the work product that their teams rely on. More + the press release in the thread below.

One of the more interesting effects of AI is that the cost of building something is collapsing, but the cost of knowing what’s worth building isn’t. We’re about to see an explosion of people creating products. Far fewer will know how to make something people actually want.

Now that’s called conviction!!
Smoking cigarettes because you believe AI will cure cancer is the way-OTM call option of lifestyle decisions. You have to be right on both direction AND duration… or you blow up.

The most fascinating part of this moment is that AI capability is compounding far faster than adoption or understanding. We're approaching a world where the gap between what technology can do and what most people believe is possible has never been wider

Are there specific industries/niches this works best for? I.e law, finance, startups generally.. curious about this lol
[name]? sending that ^ as a last-resort bump email is the most effective sales technique i've ever learned it evokes an emotional response in the recipient because people are not used to seeing their name in such an exposed manner. it's almost alarming the format also breaks their pattern recognition of what cold outreach looks like, and therefore breaks their autopilot response to said outreach this has either revived or generated at least one deal per month for me, no exaggeration

Agreed @mwaldman130 If anything, AI is making exceptional engineers even more valuable. The gap between those who can build something and those who can build something great is only going to widen.
I was previously in the camp of "SWE will be solved". Instead, the field will bifurcate. Great SWEs are more demanded than ever: AI amplifies their value. Those with the ability to craft solutions LLMs are incapable of regardless of model/harness: low-level optimizations, clever system design, maintain increasingly complex codebase, good product taste, and experiment design sense are in a great spot. SWEs who just executed on plans that others laid out are at risk. Those who have historically been in the latter group can definitely cross over, though.

The next AI breakthrough will come from giving existing models the right context. Having spent time deploying AI into some of the largest financial institutions, I’m convinced the industry is optimizing for the wrong bottleneck. A few thoughts:

5/ This changes where value accrues: As models become cheaper and more interchangeable, intelligence itself becomes less of a differentiator. The real advantage may belong to whoever best understands the environment in which that intelligence operates

6/ My prediction: the next major battle won’t just be about who builds the smartest model, but who builds the systems that understand how the world actually works. Models are getting better at knowing everything, but the opportunity is getting them to understand your everything

Couldn’t agree more @Lihong062. Some of the most exceptional people I’ve met would never have stood out on paper. Talent and ambition are everywhere, but access and opportunity aren’t. The upside of finding these people early is enormous….
Talent is more widely distributed than the credentials that make it legible to capital. Love that @AlexMonahaqyrt is putting time and resources behind that insight. A small grant and the right mentor can go a very long way for someone who's ambitious and able.
