🚨🇦🇷 Atlético Madrid are keeping a close eye on Alexis Mac Allister's situation. @ismaeelmahmoudd/@winwinallsports

🇪🇸✨ A player who deserves immense praise. Not only has he elevated Atleti’s attacking play, but he’s also started showing significant improvement defensively. Today, he won 3/4 tackles and 4/5 ground duels, while also recording 2 recoveries, 1 interception, and 1 clearance. To top it all off, he delivered a wonderful assist for the only goal of the game, securing all three points for Atleti. Take a bow, Don Alejandro Grimaldo. 🎩👏

🚨🇦🇷 It had been 347 days since Julián Alvarez’s last goal at the Metropolitano in La Liga and 395 days since his last goal from open play in La Liga. Today, he finally ends the drought.

HERE'S A VIDEO OF JULIAN ALVAREZ APOLOGISING TO THE ATLETICO MADRID FANS! 🇦🇷🔴⚪️

🇦🇷🔴⚪️ Diego Simeone: "I was sure Julian's goal would come and that we could take the game where we wanted it to go, but the sending-off prevented us from playing the way we wanted. It clearly affected us. "We brought Sørloth on towards the end in case they lost their shape while pushing for the win." "Hjulmand's red card was fair. I always tell the guys that every time you go to ground, you're putting yourself at risk of being sent off. Every time you dive into a challenge, there's a danger of getting a red card." "Hancko's penalty? I was too far away. People were shouting to me that it was a penalty, but I didn't see it."

🚨 Alejandro Grimaldo on the stomp on Hancko: "It was a clear penalty. I don’t understand why VAR intervenes in some situations but not in others. These are things I just can’t understand. Everyone watching on TV could clearly see it. It was an obvious penalty, and not long ago, a similar one was given against us." [via @PedroFullanaSER]
