Cameras are funny.
For most of their history, we pointed them outward.
Then we started pointing them at ourselves.
Some became creators. Others became influencers.
But most of us just binged 🍿
Not because we had nothing to say.
But because talking to a camera feels... weird.
So I built makiroll.app.
A camera that gives you something to respond to, instead of showing you your own face.
To make recording feel less like performing.
And more like having a conversation.
To help you become someone who makes video.

what do you do while your agent is working?
I feel like this time could be made useful somehow

Cursor’s AI support's mistake charged me $434
this month Cursor blew past my $350 hard limit to $784
they credited back the $434 difference, and said "we will eat this cost for you" due to their processing delay
their AI support told me to raise my limit above the full total to unblock my account.
then the credit vanished and I got charged $434
the credit is only "temporary protection" and raising the limit makes it chargeable.
this is nowhere in the docs.
beyond the doc’s though, why didn't the support agent say that?
the AI support agent basically said:
"set the limit above current usage to gain access"
when the truth was:
"raise your limit above current usage and pay the $434 in charges caused by our processing delays that we told you we would absorb, and then you will regain access."
if you are capped, do not touch your limit.

Tricking the US Government to protect frontier labs’ business model by using a China boogeyman is a mistake.
It is protecting the equity of 5,000 people who are investors in OAI and Ant at the sale of everyone else. This would be a terribly stupid decision.
Let the market sort this out!
The events of the past few weeks may simply mean that the frontier labs’ business model is not good and that their revenues aren’t sustainable.
That’s ok. It’s ok to have a business model that worked for some time then all of a sudden didn’t (remember Groupon)!
This still leaves a lot of value for a lot of other American companies:
- CPUs
- GPUs
- hyperscalers
- neoclouds
- rack manufacturers
- electricity and power
- skilled trades
- application layer AI
None of this value goes away. In fact, if the model layers’ costs decrease by 10-100x, competition would accelerate and I would argue that the value to everyone else will go up more than what is lost.
Let the free market sort this out vs allowing two companies whose stock is owned by less than 5,000 people decide this for America.

YC's position in Mercor would be worth >$1B today if they hadn't rejected us in 2023.
They passed because a previous recruiting startup didn't work out. These days, YC seems more focused on funding clones of fast-growing companies than making contrarian bets.
What's the largest company YC has invested in over the last 3 years? The hit rate seems surprisingly low.
