Big melanoma data in @NatureMedicine 👇
A pooled analysis of 1,038 patients with resectable melanoma treated before surgery. Among the 735 who received immunotherapy, 58% had little or no viable tumor left at surgery.
Those patients? ~98% alive at 5 years.
And their 5-year recurrence-free survival was similar with or without additional immunotherapy after surgery (90.8% vs 90.6%).
So if treatment already worked this well, do patients need more?
Not randomized, so prospective trials are needed. But very encouraging.

The bolus versus weekly cisplatin debate rages on, but fortunately more data dropped this past week with the publication of the ConCERT trial (Concurrent Chemotherapy and External Radiation Therapy) comparing bolus with weekly schedules.

Clear trend: more #preference #signals in medical residency application→ less overapplication.
As signals increase, apps/applicant decline—reducing cost, noise, and inefficiency.
Better alignment + less admin burden—is it for everbody?

🚨 JAMA flags admin and access delays as safety hazards in care. In #headandneckcancer, this can derail trials & immunotherapy starts, likely worsening outcomes.
Insightful viewpoint by Drs. Hassid and Kaafarani #JAMA #OncologySafety
#Oncology #PatientSafety @MDAndersonnews
💬 Viewpoint: Administrative delays and access failures introduce patient safety risks but are rarely treated as safety events in health systems.

As I always spoke about this, the field of #NasopharyngealCarcinoma leads the way in driving individualised treatment in #HeadNeckCancer
When we published our initial idea of stratifying patients by their early treatment response using #EBVDNA back then in 2018, we decided to test our idea formally with a trial, and kudos to a very talented #biostats and willing collaborators, we came up with EP-STAR
Very glad to see it finally published today in @Nature
