Solanke gave @DarrenBent a run for his money as the worst Spurs striker I’ve ever seen live today

Of course it’s fucking horrible to wait all summer for the season to start and then a month in you haven’t scored a goal. But if you’re seriously telling me that during those first 20 minutes yesterday you weren’t massively impressed and excited with what you saw then you’re either wilfully blind or you just love being miserable. I’m as frustrated as anyone else. But great things take time. The overhaul and rebuild in the summer in terms of outgoings and new players is by far the biggest we’ve ever had at the club. It was never going to be a magical fix. That doesn’t mean we shouldn’t have scored a few by now. But as Spurs fans we were born to suffer - so we should all be used to it by now. I am in absolutely zero doubt that Roberto De Zerbi is the man to take us forward. I am in absolutely zero doubt that he has the capacity to be our most successful manager in the premier league era. And I also fully believe that this squad, once gelled and confident, is one of the strongest in the premier league. That doesn’t mean it couldn’t do with a few additions in key areas, but Rome wasn’t built in a day. With all that said, RDZ is human and capable of making mistakes. Taking Bentancur off yesterday was a mistake. Letting DJed Spence go was a mistake. Leaving Richie out of the PL squad was probably a mistake. But this is also the man that saved us from catastrophe just a few months ago. He has tonnes of credit in the bank. Support him. Support the project. Be patient. There is no other alternative. This will still be a great season. COYS

Can’t help but feel like it should be Iraola at Spurs (similar career trajectory to Poch), Alonso at Liverpool (ex-player, loved by fans) and De Zerbi at Chelsea (slightly toxic egomaniac)

Falling awkwardly on your shoulder in an injury completely unrelated to your ACL is not being ‘injury prone’. It’s simply fucking shit luck and the only thing being directed at James Maddison right now should be sympathy and support. If you’re directing anything other than that at him then you’re a cunt. Nothing more

Have Villa considered playing one of their fans and getting them to bore the opposition about PSR until they give up, couldn't be any worse

Stick to ultimate team videos for 12 year olds
I'd take Neto over Olise and more importantly so would Pep, Klopp and Arteta

Absolutely hated that he was vilified by some on here during his last few years at Spurs. I’ve always loved and admired him. Was a huge part of our greatest team in recent history and was one of the few who spoke out about our media treatment. Forget what was said on here. ‘I love Eric Dier, Eric Dier loves me’ used to get sung at WHL as much as any other song for a good few years. Would absolutely love it if he made it as a coach and came back to manage us one day. Proper Spurs
The ever-impressive Eric Dier. A future manager in the making? 🤔 Watch him mic'd up live in action on his UEFA B Licence, coaching the AS Monaco academy.

West Ham fans were outraged when a weakened Aston Villa side capitulated to Tottenham Hotspur, giving the North Londoners an advantage in the battle to avoid relegation. Yet clubs prioritizing different competitions come May is hardly new. In fact, back in 2007, it was West Ham and Carlos Tevez who stayed up on the last day, at the expense of Sheffield United, by beating a weakened Manchester United side. Rotation is a fact of football life. But players not trying? That’s another matter. 📝 @DTathletic 🔗 nytimes.com/athletic/7243023…

Yeah that’s right get the “Sky 6” relegated so the poor little state-owned oil clubs like Newcastle can take their places instead
Spurs will absolutely not be in this position next season. Villa have rolled over and handed one of the Sky 6 their survival. Embarrassing.

Thomas Frank needs to go straight to Guantanamo Bay
5.3 - Tottenham have won possession in the final third, on average, 5.3 times per game under Roberto De Zerbi in the Premier League so far - the highest average for any team under a manager this season. Press.
