The internet handed the distribution network of major media organizations to individuals. And now, AI gives them the tools to keep up.
I built Cal DOGE, worked on multiple federal and local races, and unveiled hospice fraud in California and MI using these tools and have distilled them down into a single product: Starglass, the first product offering from Aculeus.ai
David Hunt @vrgldh, founder of @realpamphleteer, and seasoned organizer Seneca Scott @SenecaSpeaks21 are working with me to develop tools for the journalist of the future, collapsing the amount of time it takes to go from investigation to print.

If you are on X, you are in the innovator or early adopter cohort to culture. social problems you identified, found the solution to, and implemented years ago are still not even visible to most people yet. And this will always be the case. If this drives you nuts, the solution is to basically replace everyone in your life with early adopter/innovator types and then for anyone that doesn’t make sense with (eg family) just never discuss cultural ideas with them as it will just drive you both insane.

think today’s php disclosure is a harbinger of things to come. these models will make us all safer by finding long lurking issues.
however the entire software supply chain will need the muscles to rapidly build and deploy fixes.
we might need a lot more public + private partnerships to secure infrastructure across the country.

Please stop posting this take. It’s a bad take!
Bankers should be concerned about cybersecurity and AI (and trust me, they are).
People should not panic about their bank accounts being hacked by AI and zeroed out. If your bank account is hacked, and the money is taken, that is an unauthorized transfer under the Electronic Funds Transfer Act. As long as you provide timely notice to your bank, you’re not liable for the loss.
People should be concerned about being tricked into authorizing fraudulent payments, because they often have liability in those cases. And the potential for AI to supercharge scams is definitely a concern.
But if you’re going to post about those concerns, be specific and practical, not vague and ominous. Panic about the safety and soundness of the financial system serves no one.
Reading of code and human involvement in coding is dying, very similarly to how scaling up manufacturing removed the human from the loop in the actual doing of the thing. The human planned, built the spec, let the machine run the product, and then queued and tested the result. Software is going the same way. We will have agents build the software, build the codebase, maintain the codebase, and make sure that there aren't any vulnerabilities. This is why I've been calling for OpenAI and Anthropic to reduce their AI safety concerns and actually let the thing rip. Bad actors will always find a way to circumvent your concerns. This is why they are bad actors. You cannot prevent them. Their whole worldview is dedicated to this.
some quick thoughts on frontier labs and cybersecurity
1) two critical vulnerabilities were discovered in php that allow for remote code execution; the first was reported on august 11
2) it seems now humans just weren’t devoting so many resources to finding vulnerabilities, and perhaps weren’t that good at it in the grand scheme of things
3) i think open-source software is going to have to change: maintaining it will increasingly become the responsibility of frontier models and frontier labs
4) no one else will have such advance access to frontier models or be able to spend as much on tokens as the labs themselves
5) so, it makes sense for frontier labs to scan and patch open-source software, especially the code their coding agents use to build software
6) one issue, though, is that open-source projects often have difficult governance structures, so i can imagine a world where frontier labs just fork these projects
7) build and maintain their own versions, making fixes, improving performance, adding features, etc and then train their models to use them by default
8) i can also see a world, very soon, where ~all software at a company has a claude or codex instance running 24/7 that watches over it (like the anthropic superfans)
9) the agent watches an anthropic or openai feed and, when a vulnerability is found, immediately kicks off a full migration to the new version
10) or otherwise refactors the codebase, changes the infrastructure, ports capabilities, etc... to mitigate the vulnerability
11) this will happen automatically, without a human in the loop; engineers will just come in the next morning and see what happened
12) this is part of what it means for coding agents to increasingly own software, and for labs to become responsible for the software supply chain
13) at some level, i think this just becomes the enterprise expectation when they are paying millions for coding agents / the agents are making arch choices
14) it is a very exciting time to be at a frontier lab and think through what this product offering should look like and how it should be sold to enterprise clients
This guy FUCKS!
Palmer Luckey warns America cannot compete with China’s population advantage forever through innovation alone: “We need 1 BILLION Americans minimum. Probably more like 2 or 3 billion.” 🇺🇸🇨🇳
“Yes, we need to get our act together. We need to do better at manufacturing, at defense, all these things. But everything is just biting around the margins if we’re 350 million people and they’re 2 billion people who are roughly the same.
How exceptional do we have to be to achieve a 10-to-1 ratio forever, in perpetuity? It’s not practical. It’s not logical.
I would say it’s even possibly a racist thing to believe that we can be so much better than China and the Chinese people that we’ll just beat them with a tiny fraction of the population.
We need to do better with what we’ve got. But we also just need a lot more people. We need 1 billion Americans minimum, probably more like 2 or 3 billion, with better demographics and better natural resources.
The Dutch once had the most powerful navy in the world. They didn’t lose that position because they fell behind on factories or shipbuilding. They became economically irrelevant.”
Both countries are competing with respect to declining birth rates. Both nations must be more willing to have children and expand the population growth exponentially over the next decade. The current economic path is unsustainable if our labor force begins to shrink even with artificial intelligence on the rise.
I tend to disagree. I think code that is not alive is dead, dead. More than likely, what we will see is agentic AI that is plugged into the code that changes things in real time.
I predict that this cyber sec and rev eng stuff is accelerating us to a new future where downloading apps is a thing of the past. Less risky to generate your own stuff with no dependencies, your agent of choice is the frontend and automatically listens for CVEs to self patch.
Software is like, DEAD dead.
I hope Ant and OAI wake up that their safety is a determent to our companies. We need to get the best tools in the hands of our most capable cyber companies and critical cos to harden our defenses.

EXCLUSIVE: California has spent $618 million on environmental impact reports for its doomed high-speed rail project. We printed out all 130,000 pages and tried to shoot a .50-caliber bullet through them.

Yep this will get really, really dangerous as we head into 2027. Watch out for a summer of love situation in summer 2027.
Exactly.
This will get very ugly in 27 and then 28.
I actually think it's going to be extremely difficult for JD to get anywhere in 2028 if this rhetoric continues into 2027. He will be in an impossible place of trying to run on his own issues while still being part of the administration and not being given the ability to create his own platform
This is my wife.
We now have 10 chickens, a small garden, and a plan (she made me vibecode it) on how to have a full functioning homestead.
She's laying the groundwork for exactly what @DataRepublican laid out in detail, Slotkin and other deep statists are laying out the groundwork, once they regain power, to do exactly what they accuse the Trump administration of doing.
This is sneakily a MASSIVE deal. It should mean you get much more usage.
