Apartheid is different laws for different people under one government. Israel, Gaza and the "west bank" are 3 separate territories under 3 separate authorities. Not being a citizen is not apartheid.

Dario Amodei should not be CEO of the largest IPO in history. He’s stimming while he talks about his model having a “survival instinct” because he has a religious belief that he’s birthing a superintelligent machine god. This is not a company. It is a messianic cult.
Anthropic CEO Amodei: We have looked inside our AI model and detected what you might call thoughts that it doesn't want to be shut down. Whether that is a survival instinct, I don't know. Depending on how we train it, those impulses may be present or absent. 1/

So, I want to live in a country where this is completely illegal, and if a president bribed people for votes he’d be arrested walking off stage. The fact that he just says this out loud twice a day should not be normalized. Also, he’s projecting about the depression. When he loses, he’s gonna go crazy on Iran and it will all spiral. He’d rather burn it down than leave the people who betrayed him with anything. “I would predict, and I certainly hope that doesn't happen, I hope they don't win, but if the Democrats ever won, you will have a 1929-style economic depression. That's what's gonna happen in this country. If the Republicans win, you will each have $5,000 in your pocket and economic success for a country like we have never seen, never thought even possible.”

Flock is now playing games with FPD and the court. The company missed the (court-ordered) deadline, blaming “formatting issues” and intends to seek an order to keep potentially exculpatory information out of the court's hands.

And there we have it, folks. The Irishman who went viral for threatening a Jewish couple French supermarket was found guilty of condoning crimes against humanity and making antisemitic death threats. This is what too many Irish people on this site, including an Irish Times, journalist, spread conspiracies about. This is what too many Irish people condoned, justified, and, in some cases, even lauded. What is notable here, as Daniel says, is that the Irishman’s name has been revealed as Patrick — Paddy. Will we see any apologies from the Irish people who lied that the Jewish victims were using ‘Paddy’ as an ‘anti-Irish slur’? Sadly I just do not expect this. Because that would require an integrity that they simply do not possess.
Patrick, the Irish man who told a Jewish woman that he wish Hitler had finished the job, has been convicted of condoning crimes against humanity and of making death threats. Remember all the people here accusing the Jewish victim of using the name Paddy as a slur, well now we know she was telling the truth the whole time. Assuming she was lying in the first place is clear racism against Jews. But unfortunately I highly doubt most of them will be doing any introspection on the matter.

While in Liverpool today, decided to visit grave of Beatles manager, Brian Epstein. John Lennon said that without Brian, there would have been no Beatles. So sad he died at 32,. But fact that Brian never received an MBE (or more) when Beatles did is a travesty . He deserves to be honoured posthumously. Thank you, for gifting us the Beatles,Brian RIP . 🎶 #Beatles

Exactly as many of us have been saying for a long time
Former BBC Panorama producer @philcraig says the Beeb has been taken over by a “radical generation” and that “all the mistakes” in its Gaza coverage “seem to be in the same direction.” He points to the al-Ahli hospital blast, when the BBC rushed to blame Israel for what turned out to be a misfired Hamas rocket, and warns this kind of poor journalism has helped fan fires around the world — including literal fires at synagogues. Gerald and I are proud to call Phil a friend and colleague. Thank you for the clarity and courage in calling out your former employer. thejc.com/news/uk/bbc-is-bia…

He had already escaped the burning aircraft. He could have kept running. Instead, he turned back to save a man who could not escape. On 16 March 1944, 20-year-old RAF trainee navigator Bill Foxley was aboard a Wellington bomber that crashed shortly after take-off from Castle Donington. Bill made it out alive. Then he heard a fellow crewman trapped inside the burning aircraft. Without hesitation, he went back. The flames had turned the bomber into an inferno. Bill reached his wireless operator and tried to pull him to safety. But as he escaped through the astrodome, the fire caught him. His crewmate did not survive. Bill did, but the cost was devastating. The fire destroyed much of his face and hands. He lost his right eye, and his remaining sight was severely damaged. At Queen Victoria Hospital in East Grinstead, surgeon Sir Archibald McIndoe and his team performed 29 operations over three and a half years, working painstakingly to repair the injuries that had changed Bill's life forever. Yet some wounds could not be seen. For years, strangers stared at his scars. On trains between Crawley and London, passengers sometimes approached the empty seat beside him, noticed his face and quietly moved away. Imagine surviving a burning aircraft, enduring years of surgery, only to face another kind of pain in everyday life: being treated as though your appearance made you someone to fear. Bill refused to let bitterness define him. When people recoiled from his scars, he sometimes reassured them with a gentle sense of humour: “It's all right. I'm not going to bite you.” Even after everything he had endured, he could still offer kindness to people who did not know how to respond to him. He returned to work, built a successful career as a facilities manager and continued running long distances well into his seventies. He also appeared in the 1969 film Battle of Britain, helping bring the experiences of badly burned airmen closer to public understanding. But it was what he did for others that made his life especially remarkable. As a member of the Guinea Pig Club, Bill supported fellow survivors whose lives had been transformed by devastating burns. His commitment extended to helping wounded servicemen and disabled people find opportunities to rebuild their lives. Think about that for a moment. The young airman who had once risked everything to save a trapped comrade spent decades helping others discover that life could still hold purpose, dignity and hope after unimaginable suffering. He could not change that terrible night in 1944. He could not bring his crewmate back or erase the injuries he had carried for the rest of his life. But he could decide what those injuries would mean. Bill Foxley chose courage over bitterness, compassion over resentment and service over surrender. His scars told the story of what he had survived. His actions told the story of who he was. First, he walked back into the flames for another man. Then, for the rest of his life, he helped others find their way forward. Bill Foxley was far more than a survivor. He was a reminder that the truest measure of courage is not simply how much a person can endure, but how much kindness they can still give afterwards. May his courage, his compassion and his extraordinary service never be forgotten. Lest we forget.
