Is there anyone more overrated in the corporate press than Mehdi Hasan?
He is constantly wrong about objective facts (I love how he misused the word โincumbentโ), he is insufferably arrogant, he is unrelatable, and he just bullies and browbeats people with bullshit.
Sure he has a nice English accent but that is a dime a dozen.
I will go further with this. Banned books are a marketing tool. You get some deep red county in Alabama to ban your book and you get prime real estate at Barnes and Noble to hawk your book.
Moreover you get liberal boomers buying it, feeling cheeky, and giving it to their grandkids.
It is a sweet tradeoff. You trade in getting banned in some deep red county for prime marketing.
1) another black person called the police
2) it was on the kidโs parents because they were recording other peopleโs kids during the game
3) no trespass citation was given
I would file this under parents not knowing how to behave at their kidโs games not racism.
Which if you talk to any umpire or referee for youth sports, it is a big issue. Parents are out of control.
This is an interesting way of looking at it but I have a slightly different view.
I think more people launder โthings they likeโ into the idea of โdemocracy.โ
For example, how many times have you heard that โDemocracy was savedโ after an election? That begs the question, โWhat if the โother sideโ won?โ Shouldnโt we get to โdemocracy is savedโ when we figure out that it was a free and fair election?
I am convinced that the number of elite
teams this year is zero. You have a lot of good teams (Ohio State, Miami, Georgia, Indiana, UCLA, Texas, Kentucky, etc) and a lot of shitty to normal teams.
If I were a conspiracy type (I am not) I would say that this has been rigged to justify a 24 team playoff.
