Russia's neighbours, a ledger:
Moldova, 1992: Russian troops in Transnistria. Still there.
Georgia, 2008: about 20% occupied. Still occupied.
Ukraine, 2014: Crimea.
Ukraine, 2022: full invasion.
The pattern isn't NATO. It's Moscow.
UK: Economy:
A solicitor told me their work maps onto the economic cycle:
In good times they are busy engaged in business deals, mergers, acquisitions, property etc.
In bad times, they are mostly doing litigation - bitter disputes, arguments, deals soured etc.
Right now😔
UK: Biz:
Magellan Aerospace had to rapidly consolidate operations to survive Covid. When deciding which sites to close, the post-Brexit reality made UK-based facilities far more vulnerable than their EU-based counterparts so Bournemouth closed losing 300 jobs.

"As he shook hands with Grant's military secretary Ely Parker, a Seneca Indian, Lee stared for a moment at Parker's dark features and said "I am glad to see one real American here."
Parker responded, " We are all Americans. " – at Denville, NJ

Sawers: Russia wanted the Leave campaign to win the Brexit referendum. Brexit would weaken Europe and marginalize Britain as a global player.
Russia saw an opportunity, and the Leave campaign's leaders fell into it. 3X

I will be speaking with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and his team this week to discuss Starshield, sanctions, and other matters pertaining to the defense of our strong ally, Ukraine. I will be assuring President Zelenskyy that anyone who attempts to limit the use of Starshield for Ukraine will be fully investigated and will be held fully accountable, to include public congressional oversight hearings, and immediate harsh and punitive budget cuts to any responsible agency or agency head.
Congress will unequivocally reaffirm that Ukraine is an indispensable ally to the United States, that Russia is a self-declared enemy of the United States, and that the United States will 100% support and defend the people of Ukraine in their fight for their own freedom against this brutal, illegal, and unprovoked Russian invasion.
The United States must provide any and all defensive equipment that Ukraine needs to defend itself. The United States must not import a single drop of Russian oil. Sanctions against the Russian regime must be harsher and stronger than they’ve ever been before. Each and every one of these items will be brought to the House Floor—and each and every one of these items will pass on the House Floor by an overwhelming margin.
This is, after all, what Ronald Reagan would do. And this is what we will do now. Ukraine can, and will, defeat Russia. #PeaceThroughStrength

Leaders and policymakers should be utterly ashamed of themselves.
There must be an appropriate response to these events.
