Ironically, it's the functionally illiterate who do not understand this distinction. ๐Ÿคฃ
The literacy crisis isnโ€™t that people canโ€™t read the words. Itโ€™s that they canโ€™t understand the context, infer meaning, recognise nuance, identify contradictions, or draw logical conclusions from what theyโ€™ve read

I like that he basically conceded the entire argument with his phrasing, "get your money back." Which implies it was temporarily gone. This never happens with credit. Credit is safer. (It's okay to be wrong.)
Itโ€™s actually very easy to get your money back if your debit card is compromisedโ€ฆ?

My favorite Republican campaign tradition is the biennial running of the migrants.
BREAKING: Another large migrant caravan is leaving Mexicoโ€™s southern border right now in an attempt to reach the United States. Some members of the caravan, which is mostly comprised of Central Americans, told me they are hopeful Democrats win the midterms.

I blame the Dave Ramsay-style absolutists for this. Debt is neither inherently bad nor good and exists on a sliding scale. 30% auto loan? Bad. 3% home loan? Great - donโ€™t pay it off early. Carrying balance on credit? Bad. Paying off full credit balance? Good.
You can argue it doesnโ€™t make much sense if you think about it but I donโ€™t think itโ€™s surprising 25-35 year olds are really skeptical of credit cards. Credit card debt was made out to be Satan post-2008. I remember seeing financial advisors cutting up credit cards on live TV

Display Fusion randomly shows a different wallpaper from my lifetime collection of personal pictures on each of my three monitors every 15 minutes. It's great! And yesterday I vibe coded a little script so it only shows pictures taken "on this day." Now it's better! โค๏ธ

This whole discourse is just one group saying "credit cards are pretty financially beneficial for very little effort if you exercise self-control" arguing past another group who cannot conceive of having self-control.
For salaried people, credit cards are literally one of the worst financial decisions you can make. You spend more than you possess, once you get paid & repay the loan, you do not have enough money left for the rest of the month so you use the card again. Itโ€™s a never-ending cycle

This is like claiming that your electricity bill which arrives monthly is โ€œmicrodebtโ€.
sooooooooooo according to the Internet, I should be constantly be putting myself into micro-debt and getting myself out of it every month to improve my dumbass "credit score" and MAYBE get enough money to get like an iPad or two. thanks capitalism

The back to back TikTokโ€™s of them dancing to their own song is such an underrated detail but really brings this whole thing together. This is The Other Two type humor. No notes
This is a very well done video. It also looks like it took a lot of effort. I donโ€™t think I can put into words how much it accurately depicts people I fucking hate tho.

The replies to this post perfectly encapsulates how financially illiterate the average person is. They assume that if you have a credit card, you have to be paying interest. This means their only experience with a credit card is using it then not paying it off.

Richard Riehle is a legend. Loved him in Star Trek and "The Man From Earth," especially.
Dude was in over 400 movies. He did EVERYTHING. Big action films, indie horror, tv. Before Ari Aster broke in, Richard Riehle would lead one of his short films the same year he was in 13 movies. He could hold his own with any A-lister. One of the most reliable men in Hollywood
