Elisabeth Elliot is at the top of my Christian hero list. Her writing on suffering and surrender shaped me, and my respect for her hasn't changed. Here's what happened. In 2020, historian William Stell interviewed Virginia Mollenkott, who died later that year. She described a private 1975 conversation with Elliot, and Stell published that account this summer. Lucy Austen, Elliot's biographer, responded in Christianity Today. Does Mollenkott's story make it clear that Elliot was bisexual? No. It's one secondhand account of a conversation from decades earlier, and both women are gone. It doesn't fit Elliot's moral convictions about sexuality. It's interesting, but it isn't convincing. That's why I was glad @LucySRAusten wrote her article. She's an authority on Elliot's life. Instead of leaving Stell's minority report out there unanswered, she held it up against the letters and journals she had access to and told us honestly what can and can't be known. She couldn't slam the door on the story with the record she had, so she didn't pretend to. That isn't gossip or slander. It's fair reporting, and it's the work of building an accurate public record. We will all leave a legacy, and the hope is that the story told about us after we die is as true as possible. The knee-jerk condemnation of @CTmagazine treats Elliot like a saint who can't be examined. Christians rightly demanded the truth about Ravi Zacharias, but that came from a documented pattern of abuse. This is one account that can't be confirmed. Elliot's legacy is strong enough to handle an honest look, and this story doesn't come close to disrupting it.

Elizabeth Elliott is at the top of my Christian hero list. I read the CT article last week. I was grateful that it was published. I hold a conservative view of sexuality. I’m not bothered by the substance of the article. Who knows what was actually going on in the 60s and 70s with Elizabeth. It seemed so dumb to read all the people who were bent out of shape. I’m grateful for CT.

I’m glad the bent out of shape people found my post. You all did a great job self-identifying.

If your life strategy is to play the victim, hate rich people, and wait for a political party to avenge your grievances, you are living an empty life. Even if your champion wins, what are the odds their agenda actually passes—and then survives the Supreme Court? And if it does, how much of that victory actually lands in your life? At the end of the day, victimhood plus government-as-your-plan-for-flourishing is lottery math. Unlikely. Impersonal. Unfulfilling. It is a poor way to spend a human life.

The fact that Dario is in the background talking to himself makes the SNL skit all that much more funny. 🤣

There is a fine line between serving your constituents and being paternalistic. Unfortunately Hawley is ignorant and paternalistic at the expense of human liberty and freedom.
🚨 JOSH HAWLEY EXPLAINS HIS NO VOTE ON THE CLARITY ACT 🚨 Sen. Josh Hawley (R-MO) was one of four Republicans (including @SenThomTillis, who switched his vote at the last minute) to break with the party and sink the crypto bill's advance in the Senate. His reasoning: "My concern is all to do with farmers in my state. Ag is our number one industry in Missouri, and farmers are so concerned they won't be able to get loans from small-town banks, because investors will leave those banks chasing the yields available under the bill." @HawleyMO said Sen. @JerryMoran, who also voted no, has language that could fix it - calling the issue "pretty doable" to resolve. "We've got to make sure those banks stay in operation, stay competitive, and have enough capital to make loans or our Missouri economy will collapse."

The last 24 hours on Grok @bot has been pretty bad. If I was using open source I would understand. But when I'm paying a premium it is very disappointing.

I am very grateful for this ruling and disappointed in Baltimore city officials who opposed the accountability that an OIG provides. Baltimore has a long history of corruption. The path to restoring public trust runs through and independent Inspector General. @OIG_Baltimore @isabel_cumming

The same people who told me COVID was an existential threat 5 years ago and shut the world down are the ones saying AI is going to kill everyone. I listened 5 years ago and respected the “experts”. Not so sure I want a round two with the same “experts”.

The Coxon psyop was a decade and more than a billion dollars in the making. Here's the story. Coefficient Giving (formerly Open Philanthropy) is the grant-providing vehicle of Dustin Moskowitz. CG is the overwhelmingly foremost funder of AI alarmism, with more than $1B in grants and $1B committed for 2026. Moskowitz, who founded and runs Open Philanthropy/Coefficient Giving, led Anthropic's Series A in 2021. Holden Karnofsky co-founded Open Philanthropy/Coefficient Giving and took a board seat at OpenAI when Open Philanthropy/Coefficient Giving gave it $30M in 2017. Karnofsky is married to Anthropic's president Daniela Amodei. He then joined Anthropic in January 2025. Coxon, who started the viral thread, received a scholarship from Good Ventures, which is the foundation that funds Open Philanthropy/Coefficient Giving. He coordinated his message ahead of time with the Wall Street Journal, which published its exclusive on him before he posted on X. Coxon spent three years pretraining at OpenAI, the company that took $30M from Open Philanthropy/Coefficient Giving. The funder of the AI alarmist ecosystem Open Philanthropy/Coefficient Giving, in other words, is also an owner of Anthropic, and his organization is deeply entangled with both OpenAI and Anthropic. Anthropic's researchers in turn amplified Coxon. The same people who own the organizations that advocate for regulation, in other words, are those who own the companies that would dominate the market under that regulatory regime, which would prevent competitors from entering the market. And this work all started ten years ago, right when these companies were founded, paving the way. It's diabolically brilliant. Win at the competition, then deploy activists to help you regulate the market and ensure your monopoly. You have to respect the planning, manipulation, and foresight this took.
I think the groundwork for this psy op (for lack of a better term) has been prepared for a long time. This was just the match that lit the fire.
