Democrat Scott Colom holds a narrow lead over incumbent Republican Sen. Cindy Hyde-Smith in Mississippi's Senate race, which CBS News still rates a toss-up.
In 2023, Hyde-Smith blocked Colom's nomination to a seat on the federal district court by refusing to return a blue slip, effectively ending his confirmation process.
@MajorCBS: “Had Hyde-Smith cleared Colom’s nomination, he would be right now on the federal bench, and not, if current voting trends hold, about to end her Senate career.”

Now the country is talking about @scott_colom in Mississippi, while @jamieforlouisiana came within 25,000 votes in Louisiana.
I made the case directly to DNC Chair Ken Martin in April, after raising the same concerns on @joyannreid.
The Deep South doesn’t lack voters. It lacks investment.
Maybe it’s time national leadership started listening to Black folks on the ground who know what they’re talking about.

NY-21 Congressional Candidate and Trump loyalist Anthony Constantino declared victory in a profanity-laced speech last evening.
Constantino scolded members of the media for not reporting his successes.
He had WWNY Reporter Garrett Dombleski removed from his watch party, calling him an "a**hole" repeatedly.
Gonna make it my mission to get the Democrats to deport only this illegal alien.
