A few years ago I was in a position to do something unique in neuroscience. I had been working with the phenomenal @emilyjacobs on menopause and inspired by @laura_pritschet's menstrual study, and I was planning a pregnancy. What if we scanned my brain?? nature.com/articles/s41593-0…

So two neuroscientists walk into a bar…..While today is full of laughs & pranks, let’s not forgot why you think the jokester of your friend group is actually the funniest. How does our brain know what’s funny & what makes some people more hilarious than others? #AprilFoolsDay 🤣 – at Winston-Salem, NC

One of my amazing PhD students, @stacy_pit, was selected to participate in a terrific science communication program at Harvard last summer (ComSciCon). A "general audience" article she wrote there about some of our ongoing research was just published! knowingneurons.com/blog/2023…

*sharing a free resource we've put together! FreeSurfer does an amazing job at automatically segmenting brain structure. However, manual QC helps to ensure accuracy, especially for brain anatomy that deviates from normative young adult samples (e.g., older adults with atrophy)
