So I went and did a thing. I have started a Patreon.
If you enjoyed my alt Indochina War stories in the Phases of Mars anthos out from @CKPBooks , in Hooves Tracks and Sabers from @raconteur_press , or in @Youngblai James L. Young's Arc of Ares Anthos--I will be releasing new editions of those stories, each with a new B&W cover art piece. I'm going to release one short story a quarter until the entire American-Indochina War story is concluded before moving onto another serialized fiction story.
I will also be posting weekly progress reports on my current novel, right now that happens to be Romanov III.

I've known @DavidJohnButler for years. (Interviewed him way back when his first middle-grade book was coming out with Knopf.)
He's kickstarting a beautiful new set of hardbacks for the complete series of "Witchy War." Written as an alternate-history fantasy with real depth, it's worth checking out! 🧙♀️🪄

I've been a website pilgrim.
I was on blogger-dot-com for the first year or so.
Then moved it all to wordpress site with a flexible but kind of homely template, hosted by hostgator. I wanted a website that did lots of things, like list my convention schedule, and my awards, and have a blog, and a bunch of links.
It did all the things. And it was kind of homely.
Then I did some work with a company that said, "Hey, as part of your compensation, we'll build you a cool new website!"
They built the cool new website. Or rather, their devs in southeast Asia did. And those same devs larded the site up with malware. So I shut my website down, oh, about a year ago.
A friend did me a favor and basically set up a new site for me this weekend. It's simple: I don't want a blog or a widget showing my most recent X post or anything else complicated. But I like it. Here it is:

There are many sad things in life, but one particularly sad thing that has come to my attention (thanks, @AngryCops @UnsubscribeCast ) is that some folks are willing to pay five figures or more for faux-basic training rather than bite the bullet and serve their country.
Just...don't. It's not the same, even if it's legitimately physically harder than Benning or Pendelton, it's not the same thing, you're not a part of a special elite club, you just lost a ton of money to get yelled at by a scam artist.

We continue to plug ahead with marketing the Witchy War kickstarter project. We're about halfway through the pre-launch period.
If you like alternate history, or epic fantasy, or Americana, or playful, culturally literate narratives, or Bible-influenced fiction, I invite you to check out the project page at the link below, and please hit "Notify me on launch."
That will mean you get an email the minute I hit the big green button and we go live. The great thing about that is it lets us coordinate and make a big initial splash, getting a bunch of backers all at once. This will let us get attention, on kickstarter, across social media, and even in the world of publishing.
Thank you.

Metallic clatter filled his ears, the sky before him burned with muzzle flashes and the cockpit rocked with the recoil of six .50 caliber machine guns, each firing twenty rounds per second. Red tracers lanced through the sky and tore into the first French jet’s fuselage. Benny was rewarded with an orange and black explosion followed by the sight of the 262’s left wing falling away and the remainder of the jet spinning off toward the distant ground. - "Red Tailed Tigers."

Listening to @JackCarrUSA’s Vietnam thriller, Cry Havoc, and his hero says, “we’re Navy SEALs, no one writes books about us.” Which was pretty much true in 1968, and a hilarious little meta commentary on the modern JSOC Media/Entertainment Complex.
Great thriller so far, too. We should never forget Vietnam. So much of who we are is bound up in it.
