Exploring arithmetic sequences in #Algebra today. I used @fawnpnguyen #visualpatterns + @Desmos to explore and develop an understanding. Shout out to
@bobloch for the idea. #iteachmath

So excited about these. Set notation puzzles from @mathequalslove but recorded instruction video for them with QR code link for a self-paced classroom so I don’t have to stop and explain to each group.

For Ss working with functions, one of my favorite @geogebra tools to have them use is the FREEHAND SHAPE tool. With this tool, Ss can sketch hand drawn function graphs and explore many standard operations typically done on them!
Since @geogebra's FREEHAND SHAPE tool treats most sketches as functions, you can do lots with them: arithmetic operations, compositions, definite integrals! Great way for Ss to intuitively work with functions from graphical (& less algebraic) perspective. 🙂 #MTBoS #ITeachMath

Today we compared the length and speed of roller coasters. Quite a debate over the usefulness of the y-intercept. "Convince those in your group" almost led to mathematical violence today. Fun stuff!
