This desire to "mother" and take care of others has no place in government. She also knows exactly what she is. She's a socialist but she doesn't want to admit it.
By her own admission, Florida U.S. Senate candidate Angie Nixon doesn’t even know if she’s a capitalist or a socialist!

Anyone who has served in the military understands that Americans come in all packages. An American can't be limited to a particular ethnic or heritage background.

This is how fallen man reasons apart from the authority of God’s Word. He looks at the created order and says, “See! It exists in nature, therefore it establishes a rule for human beings!” When I was open-air preaching, a homosexual once argued that because dolphins engage in same-sex sexual behavior, same-sex relations must therefore be natural for human beings. The heathen was correct. Some dolphins are homosexual. But the observation does not establish the conclusion. What occurs in the animal kingdom does not, by itself, determine what is morally normative for mankind. The same error appears in Dale’s German Shepherd analogy. Human beings are created in the imago Dei. A German Shepherd is a human-developed canine breed established through selective breeding. The fact that some canine breeds are classified by lineage does not establish that human national identity must be determined by ancestry. That conclusion simply does not follow. Creation is not a self-interpreting moral authority. God’s revelation, not autonomous human reasoning, determines how we ought to understand His creation. As Paul teaches in 1 Cor 2:14, "The natural person does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are folly to him, and he is not able to understand them because they are spiritually discerned." The problem is not observing nature. The problem is treating observations of nature as an autonomous standard by which we ought determine human morality and social order, apart from the authority of God’s Word. Progressives and White Christian nationalists both believe that people should be tied to their native land. And yet neither is willing to leave America.

This is the biblical position. However, never underestimate the pride of man. I've made the argument that some white Christians today are making the same exact mistake as the Jews is Jesus' day. They believe that being white makes them special. They conflate being white and European with being Christian. This is why they conflate restoring white civilization with restoring Christianity. If anyone had room for ethnic pride it was the Jews and yet we're told the children of God are those who are of the faith of Abraham. White European Christians are just Gentiles grafted in by grace. No different than the rest of us. This should bring humility not pride. Not black pride not white pride. The culture can do what it wants but we as Christians should not operate as the world does. Reject kinism and embrace what Jesus said about who his family is. Matthew 12:46–50 Jesus’ Mother and Brothers [46] While he was still speaking to the people, behold, his mother and his brothers stood outside, asking to speak to him. [48] But he replied to the man who told him, “Who is my mother, and who are my brothers?” [49] And stretching out his hand toward his disciples, he said, “Here are my mother and my brothers! [50] For whoever does the will of my Father in heaven is my brother and sister and mother.” (ESV) One Race | One People | One Savior

How dare we allow politics to shape our theology? Over the past ten years, I’ve watched Christians radically shift their theological beliefs in response to what they perceive as political crises. Initially, I saw this among friends who went “woke” in the wake of Trayvon Martin’s death, Ferguson, and Donald Trump’s 2016 election. I watched Christians like Russell Moore, Thabiti Anyabwile, and Lecrae shift their theological emphasis to align with the political crises of the day. We were no longer brothers and sisters in Christ, living out our faith together. Instead, we were increasingly divided into black and white, with a new emphasis on social justice. The gospel was displaced by activism. Equal weights and measures were abandoned in favor of tipping the scales toward the “marginalized.” Theology was no longer primarily about what was true or false, but about what was considered white or black. We were told to move away from “white” theology and embrace “black” theology. This shift wasn’t driven by Scripture. It was driven by politics. Theology was being reshaped to accommodate newly adopted political convictions. More recently, I’ve witnessed a similar shift among other Christians, but in the opposite political direction. Since COVID-19 and the George Floyd riots of 2020, followed by an aggressive push for DEI policies and anti-white discrimination, I’ve watched men like @JoelWebbon, @Eric_Conn, and @Brian_Suave make similar adjustments to their theology in response to a different political crisis. Now, the emphasis is on prioritizing white identity and heritage. Joel Webbon, for example, once said he would rejoice if his daughter married a godly black man. More recently, he has expressed opposition to that possibility, citing his preference for grandchildren who look like him. This represents a significant shift in how he approaches questions of race and marriage, seemingly to accommodate a particular political outlook. Just as with the previous movement, this shift does not appear to be driven primarily by Scripture. Instead, it seems to begin with reading other materials to understand and respond to a perceived political crisis, followed by adjusting theological convictions to fit the resulting worldview. This helps explain the renewed interest by men like @Dalepartridge in arguments surrounding the Curse of Ham and appeals to “natural order of love” to justify racial separation, even among Christians. I’ve been grieved by both movements. I’ve watched Christians who once appeared biblically sound gradually drift toward ethnic tribalism and idolatry as politics increasingly shapes their convictions. What’s particularly astonishing is that many of these people, now divided by seemingly irreconcilable views on race and politics, would have been worshipping in the same churches and doing life together just ten years ago. Unfortunately, they've allowed the cares of the world to divide them. There is something to be said for Christians who plant their feet firmly in the truth of Scripture and refuse to be moved by the shifting winds of the world. Martin Luther famously declared: “I am bound by the Scriptures I have quoted. My conscience is captive to the Word of God...Here I stand. I cannot do otherwise. God help me. Amen.” I pray that these men will return to the truth of Scripture. I pray they will recognize that we do not wrestle against flesh and blood and, therefore, must not adopt the weapons of the world under the guise of fighting for Christ. “Be careful that no one takes you captive through philosophy and empty deceit based on human tradition, based on the elements of the world, rather than Christ.” — Colossians 2:8 We need men who refuse to compromise, no matter how tempting it may be to gain power by employing the methods of the world. We cannot advance God’s kingdom or build a better society by appealing to ethnic tribalism, whether it comes in the form of social justice ideology or white Christian nationalism. The temptation is the same in both cases: to allow a political movement to dictate our theological convictions rather than allowing Scripture to govern our political engagement and how we view and treat fellow believers. When that happens, we risk exchanging biblical truth for the approval of our political allies and the promise of worldly power. We become convinced that the end justifies the means. There are certain biblical truths in which I believe are crucial for the times we are living in. We must plant our feet and refuse to move: Church over tribe. (Mark 3:31-35) Equal weights and measures over partiality. (Leviticus 19:15) Faithfulness over pragmatism. (1 Corinthians 4:1-2) Scripture as the final authority. (2 Timothy 3:16) These are not merely slogans. They are commitments that must govern how we think, how we live, and how we relate to our brothers and sisters in Christ. Our allegiance to Christ must take precedence over our allegiance to any political movement, racial identity, or cultural cause. Paul reminds us of the goal of Christian maturity and unity in Ephesians 4:11–16: “11 And he himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, some pastors and teachers, 12 to equip the saints for the work of ministry, to build up the body of Christ, 13 until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of God’s Son, growing into maturity with a stature measured by Christ’s fullness. 14 Then we will no longer be little children, tossed by the waves and blown around by every wind of teaching, by human cunning with cleverness in the techniques of deceit. 15 But speaking the truth in love, let us grow in every way into him who is the head—Christ. 16 From him the whole body, fitted and knit together by every supporting ligament, promotes the growth of the body for building itself up in love by the proper working of each individual part.” — Ephesians 4:11–16 The church must not be tossed about by every political crisis, ideological trend, or cultural movement. We must grow in discernment, remain grounded in the Word of God, and speak the truth in love. Our unity is found in Christ, not in a shared ethnicity or political agenda. May we have the courage to stand firm in Scripture, even when doing so costs us influence, popularity, political allies, our culture, and even our country. Let us refuse to exchange the truth of God’s Word for the fleeting promises of worldly power. And may we never forget that our first allegiance is to Christ and His kingdom, not to a tribe, culture, heritage, or political movement.

I haven't said anything on the Sam Sey situation because there was no information to go on. I talked to others behind the scenes and had a general idea of how and when he was detained but the exact reason wasn't known. However, since DHS has released a statement I thought now would be an appropriate time to weigh in. I don't believe what DHS is saying is the whole story. That might be what their records are telling them but it doesn't really add up. Here are questions I have. If Sam has been in an illegal status for 4 years then why wasn't his employer notified that they were illegally employing an illegal alien? If Sam was in an illegal status why wasn't it flagged when he and his wife filed taxes? If Sam was in an illegal status why wasn't he notified and was no action taken before now? Sam wasn't hiding. If Sam was knowingly in an illegal status why would he fly and travel around the country like he has the last 4 years? I could be wrong but this does seem like a clerical or administrative error. Between the military, being a government contractor, and working in academia, I've spent nearly 25 years working in government. It would not surprise me that some paperwork was not properly processed. It could be sitting on someone's desk or filed away and never input into the system. These things happen but I will wait for more information. Either way, nothing about Sam's behavior indicates that he intentionally violated the law or knew he was in an illegal status.
I have received a statement from DHS regarding Sam Sey: “On October 21, ICE arrested Samuel Sey, an illegal alien from Ghana, at the Columbus International Airport. Sey entered the United States legally in 2022 but overstayed his length of admission by over four years, in violation of our nation’s laws. Sey has no pending applications and accepted voluntary departure. He will remain in ICE custody until removed from the United States.   “We do not pick and choose which laws to enforce or where to enforce them.   “We encourage all illegal aliens to take control of their departure with the CBP Home App. The United States is offering illegal aliens $3,000 and a free flight to self-deport now. We encourage every person here illegally to take advantage of this offer and reserve the chance to come back to the U.S. the right legal way to live the American dream. If not, you will be arrested and deported without a chance to return.” - DHS SPOX As I get more information, I will update.

Here is an update from the Seys. xitter.cf/JoelWBerry/status/2114…
Update from the Seys: “My husband Samuel Sey entered the United States legally and has been working ever since in good faith with a lawyer to obtain permanent legal status. Our family is trying to understand what went wrong in the process. In the spirit of Romans 13, our family fully supports and respects American law and are prayerfully working to get him home through the legal process.”

The early church modeled a Christian community that provided the counter institutional weight and legitimacy to absorb the Roman Empire. It always starts with building the appealing alternative first. For those interested in a Christian country, what does your Christian community look like? What does your Christian online community look like? Are they the appealing alternatives from a world of sin in word, thought, and deed? A question worth asking.

We have to stop pretending that ethnic pride and tribalism have anything to do with Christ or Christianity. It really is Christless nationalism.
