Good morning, South-a 🇿🇦❤️
Some people are going to work today with heavy hearts, empty pockets and problems nobody knows about.
But they still got dressed, caught that taxi, started that car and showed up.
If that's you, I hope life surprises you with something GOOD today.
You deserve a win too. 🫂

I’ve mentioned this so many times. In China, they use facial recognition and surveillance cameras to track foreigners and the police know where you live.
Something similar happened to me. I was dating this guy, won’t mention his nationality and he moved in with me temporarily while looking for his own place. The police actually called me asking if someone else was living with me. I told them yes, but it was only temporary.
Now compare that to SA. Do we even know where all the undocumented immigrants in this country live? What systems do we have in place to track them or make sure they’re complying with immigration laws?
In China, landlords can also get into serious trouble for renting to undocumented foreigners. That’s why landlords take these things seriously. Even as a tenant, getting involved in something like this can affect your rental record and make it difficult to find another place.
People think I’m exaggerating when I talk about how strictly China enforces its immigration laws, but I’ve experienced it myself. Meanwhile, in SA, we struggle to even establish who’s in the country and where they’re staying. @mmkubayi @Khu_Ntshavheni @Leon_Schreib @HomeAffairsSA
China doesn’t play around with its immigration laws, why can’t South Africa do the same?
A Nigerian woman living in China celebrated her birthday with friends, including fellow Nigerians. Later one of the guys called her claiming he was having trouble reaching his roommate & asking if he could sleep at her apartment. She agreed & he slept downstairs on the couch.
Few moments later there was a knock at the door, she went to open it but the man warned her not to because it was the police looking for him. She didn’t open 😂so the police broke it down & explained that the man was in China illegally & had been tracked through street surveillance cameras.
She was also evicted from the flat for harbouring an undocumented foreigner & the landlord was questioned & told the apartment is now a crime scene & is not allowed to put new tenants.
This is how seriously some countries enforce their immigration laws.
