We’ve approved Alberta’s request for federal assistance. We’re deploying @CanadianForces resources, evacuations support, and more emergency wildfire resources to the province immediately — and we’re coordinating firefighting and airlift assistance. Alberta, we’re with you.

While the zoo continues to use Lucy’s breathing issues as a reason she can’t be relocated, evidence supports her environment is not only increasing risk but could very well be the direct cause of the issues.
So why are you still 🛑 #Lucys relocate to sanctuary @EdmontonClerk ?

When will the @CityofEdmonton overrule, and make the ethical and moral call to allow Lucy the chance for a full life with dignity and under the best medical care, by letting her go to the Tennessee Elephant Sanctuary?

So how can you ignore the evidence that tells you Lucy can relocate @AmarjeetSohiYEG @kerentangyeg.

Lucy is a Sri Lankan born Asian elephant held captive in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada for over 4 decades – 47 years.
Never knowing another of her species since she was taken from her herd in 1977.
Do you feel this is right @AmarjeetSohiYEG @kerentangyeg @AshleyASalvador ?

Remembering Nina!
After 60 years of being held captive in chains, Nina took her first steps of freedom at the Elephant Hospital Campus in June 2021. It was a day we will never forget. Our team of experts left no stone unturned, providing her with the necessary medical care and a healthy, balanced diet. However, her injuries were too severe for even their hard work and dedication to heal completely.
For the Wildlife SOS team and our many supporters, times like these are a flood of emotions. We are heartbroken at the loss of Nina and for the decades of suffering she endured, but at the same time, we find comfort knowing that she experienced our compassion and care during her final years. In the end, dear Nina knew she was loved and was able to experience the joys of freedom.
We miss you Nina!
Wildlife SOS has been running an active petition urging everyone not to ride on elephants and prevent any such future calamities. Nina and many other elephants could have been saved if it had not been for their horrendous past. Please sign and share this petition with as many as you can, action.wildlifesos.org/page/…

Retirement for Lucy is to transport her to a willing sanctuary in the United States.
The Tennessee Elephant Sanctuary would welcome her as well as the Performing Animal Welfare facility in California.
@AmarjeetSohiYEG Lucy would go to an amazing 🐘 home.

Please #LetLucyGo and join her herd. She deserves this since she has been in complete isolation - which #EvZoo uses a clause in regulations that only line their pockets. No concern for her well being.
