Last night, Republicans lost the U.S. House, the U.S. Senate, and my home state of Texas, a conservative cornerstone for more than three decades, because our party forgot the basic rules of coalition politics:
1. Add, don’t subtract
2. Be likeable
3. Do what you promised
4. Character & integrity still matter

Cornyn adviser responds to Paxton, in leaked audio, claiming Cornyn isn't helping and wants him to lose:

Outside of Axiom’s fake poll, Ken hasn’t led in the general ever. Not once.
Blaming Cornyn is dishonest, disreputable, weak and false. For anyone who mindlessly does it.
Ken needs to find a way to win.bus team needs to identify the way and execute.
He’s running a general like a primary. He’s running the worst U.S. Senate campaign in Texas history and anywhere this cycle. This is not debatable.
That’s not Cornyn’s fault.
Stop pre blaming. Stop whining. Win your fucking race. Leave the rest of us alone.

In his push for private school vouchers, Gov. Greg Abbott has repeatedly emphasized he has no intention of harming Texas public schools.

The many mandates used to constrain/hinder public education are quickly dismissed from voucher bills because “no school would want to participate otherwise” or simply because common sense tells the legislators those mandates cause so many problems.
Why won’t legislators ease burdens on public ed at the same time in same way?

The Texas House is all that matters.
1.Will Rural Republicans have the courage to vote their district, OR vote with Abbott to avoid a primary?
2.Will home and private school supporters vote to avoid government intrusion in their children’s education ?
The SB 2 hearing, committee vote and inevitable Texas senate passage means nothing.
A voucher bill passes every session in the Dunn/Wilks/Patrick controlled Senate.

We can’t forget what Greg Abbott did.
When a bipartisan coalition rejected his voucher scam, he retaliated by withholding funding from our public schools.
He’s sacrificing 5.5 million school children to please his billionaire donors.
