More proof that ED crowding isn’t inevitable (and great to meet colleagues in the Channel Islands). Thanks for inviting me! @DeptJersey @Govgg
Today we are highlighting the threat of normalising so-called ‘Corridor Care’
📺 And last week, @RCEM_VP Dr Ian ‘Higgi’ Higginson travelled to the Channel Islands to discuss ED Crowding with the teams there, and to see how they’re managing flow in their departments…

The statements by NHS England in this article show complete disconnection from reality. This could be so many departments. How about some respect and honesty … perhaps even an apology to patients, and staff trying to care for them in our EDs? @rcollem apple.news/ABEQnnqdsRfqs108G…

We’re ready and waiting for you to get round the table.
We offered you dates to meet this week, you refused.
You have not offered any dates to meet.
You have not offered a potential deal.
You have not offered any way out.
But you can still stop the strikes.
Be reasonable.
The NHS sees more pressure than usual over Easter and the 4 day junior doctors' strike threatens to cause significant disruption.
I urge @BMA_JuniorDocs to call off strikes and get back around the table to find a fair offer. Read more @Telegraph 👇

“There seems to be almost a battle of machismo and denial going on.”
Dr Ian Higginson, VP of the Royal College of Emergency Medicine, asks NHS and political leaders if there’s “an acceptable number” of patients dying as a result of delays and crisis in the NHS.

Watching news coverage of challenges facing @trussliz, I'm struck by how the energy crisis is put ahead of NHS. Of course it's a major looming disaster, no doubt. But we know thousands are being harmed & dying every month right now due to collapse of NHS emergency services.

This week I visited a church in Leicester who are creating a heated room - a ‘warm bank’ so people who can’t afford energy bills can avoid the cold this winter.
Meanwhile this absolute joke tells the British public to buy a new kettle.
