In Italy, a 15-year-old second-generation Moroccan migrant stabbed an Italian woman, Marta Novello, 23 times.
The 26-year-old student Marta Novello was brutally attacked in 2021 while jogging in Marocco di Mogliano, near Venice, Italy. She survived after being stabbed 23 times.
The assailant pleaded guilty and was initially sentenced to 7 years in prison, which was later reduced on appeal to five years due to his age and mental capacity.
Despite the reduction, judges officially labeled him as “socially dangerous.” In 2024, due to a bureaucratic error and a legal loophole regarding his detention terms, he was prematurely released and subsequently moved to London, United Kingdom, to live with his mother.
When he arrived and began resettling in England, his juvenile conviction for attempted murder in Venice was not initially factored into local immigration status or minor offenses.
In subsequent separate hearings in London for minor driving offenses, UK courts handled him as an individual of “previous good character” because the cross-border juvenile record was not standardly tracked or applied to active UK immigration enforcement at the time.
But here he got into trouble again: in January 2025, after a chase, he was stopped while driving a car without a driver’s license or insurance.
Even what could have been a second chance appears to have been fatally missed. After more than four years of “voluntary exile” in London, Jamal Tonelli returned to Italy.

An email address Talarico's attorneys confirm belonged to and was used by the Texas Democrat Senate candidate appears in Fling.com's 2011 data breach — username "mohawk787," created December 26, 2010, just before Talarico started teaching sixth graders.
The profile's listed interests: "FETISH," "GROUPSEX," "SEXUAL RELATIONS," "ONLINE FLIRTING."
The record is marked "email_validated: Y" — meaning the address was verified rather than left at the default setting.
The same email appears in Myspace and Zynga breach records. The IP address used to create the Fling account also shows up on an online video game record tied to an email associated with Talarico's sister — a match the attorneys did not dispute.
Talarico's lawyers responded 35 minutes after Townhall reached out with a four-page letter claiming, without substantiation, that a hacker created the account using his email, and noting the birth date and ZIP code on the profile don't match his.
