if anyone on here has tips for a great value/great vibes hotel in the general vicinity of sala daeng (really could be anywhere within several miles of lumpini park) for a 'staycation' type weekend stint...i'd love to hear 'em :)
budget for room being +/- 2000 baht. could stretch to 3000 if a truly amazing or unique place offers a chance to "feel all the feelings" just like our girl Lisa says
saw this place on an episode of Cullen (i like Cullen!) and just had to stop 😁

my only note is a personal one, no changes expected: i’d rather never hear a thai band playing 3 non-blondes ever again in my life but it’s my fault for sticking around thailand this long #selfown 😋
overall the band was great and song selection agreeable 👍
the sound 🎵
& how i described it to a thai person ✍️

the free flow of jameson also helped prolly
dude in the video had just scored his 2nd goal in as many minutes. then shortly after this celebration he was carried out on a stretcher with a leg injury 🤷🏻♂️

With the late, great Oliver Reed currently wowing 2026 audiences all over again with his incredible performance in the restored version of Ken Russell’s ‘The Devils’, I wanted to share this amazing clip of him from 1985.
The rather low-res clip comes from ‘In at the Deep End’, a BBC series in which presenter Paul Heiney tries his hands at a profession he had zero experience in. For this episode, Heiney was preparing for an acting role opposite Michael Caine in ‘Water’ and went to Oliver Reed for some pointers on how to play a villain.
Please enjoy what happens next.

We are past the point of political disagreement. We are witnessing a catastrophic collision between unchecked narcissism and obvious neurological decay. It is the most dangerous intersection in American history: a man with the absolute power of the Presidency and the absolute cognitive failure of a person no longer tethered to reality.
