At 3pm today, our region will fall silent in memory of all those affected by the Southport tragedy two years ago.
We remember Bebe, Elsie and Alice, the survivors, and those whose lives were changed forever on this day.
They are always in our hearts.

For decades young people have been told that going to university was the only measure of success - at the expense of decent technical education.
This is a chance to stop asking young people to fit the system and instead to build a system that fits around their future.

What a way to finish the week.
It was brilliant to welcome the amazing pupils and staff from @StAloysiusL36 to Parliament for a Q&A in the sunshine before heading off together to see Shrek which was an absolute belter!
A proper reminder that politics should always be about inspiring the next generation and making Parliament feel like it belongs to them too.

Good news for bus passengers in the Liverpool City Region 🚍
Mayor Rotheram has confirmed the £2 adult single fare will remain in place for now.
Alongside MyTicket - which offers young people up to the age of 19 unlimited bus travel for just £2.20 a day - and the most generous concessionary travel scheme in the country, the fare cap is helping residents continue to access affordable travel, connecting them to opportunity, each other and all the region has to offer.

Created with more than 200 local organisations and over 500 individuals, including community groups, public sector, grassroots activists, educators, businesses, and residents from every borough, the strategy was unveiled yesterday at a special event at Liverpool’s Liver Building which also featured a celebration of the work of the £2.3m Liverpool City Region Race Equality Hub.

What a fantastic achievement, champions of England. Let’s not forget the Under 12s boys team who were beaten in their final. You will all come back stronger for next year.
For over 50 years, Sir Bob Downing has dedicated his life to schools football and creating opportunities for young people.
Yesterday, he was there to witness history as we won our first ever National Cup.
Sir Bob… we climbed the mountain.
That one was for you.
Your legacy continues to inspire every child who pulls on the shirt.
Champions of England. 🏆⚽️
